Napton on the Hill CP walks

A Warwickshire walk full of interest. The route passes a restored windmill, follows two sections of canal and visits the summit of Beacon Hill which offers good views across the surrounding countryside.

This circular walk starts at The Kings Head, near Napton on the A425 where you can obtain refreshments. The route soon joins The Millennium Way along the Oxford canal then across flat farmland & open countryside, turning south to follow the Grand Union Canal and Oxford Canal providing a feast for those interested in narrow boats and history of our canal network. This is the 10th section of the Millenium Way 100 miles from Long Itchington to Priors Marston.

This circular walk incorporates two idyllic villages, quiet country lanes, pleasant woodland, open countryside, and an interesting church at Hellidon. A small section of the walk crosses Hellidon Lakes Golf Course, so extra care should be taken near the fairways. This is arguably one of our most scenic walks. A nice route around the perimeter of this Severn Trent reservoir. Start and end at the car park - there are charges, but not unreasonable. A small detour brings you to the trig-point on Hensborough Hill (see map). The route is suitable for walking or cycling. There are a couple of stretches where there is a steep climb / descent, so it might not be suitable for those with accessibility needs; however the straight dog-legged section of path to the east of the reservoir runs along a dam wall with a wide footpath and absolutely no gradient. There's also a small cafe in the visitors hub -check their website for opening times of both the park & visitor hub. Dogs are not allowed on the circular Reservoir Trail but can use the Country Park and Hensborough Trail. Find more information on the Severn Trent reservoir website

Within a short driving distance of Leamington Spa, this circular walk starts at The Stag in the lovely village of Offchurch, Warwickshire. This is walk 27 from the 44 composing the Millenium Way.

The first half of this country walk follows the route of The Millennium Way as far as Newbold Comyn Park before returning along a lovely section of the Grand Union Canal, then along the Offchurch Greenway to return back to Offchurch. This is walk 28 from the 44 composing the Millenium Way.

This circular walk starts in the picturesque village of Claydon and meanders across mostly flat farmland & open countryside, crossing the Oxford Canal at two points and touching the delightful villages of Lower and Upper Boddington. This is a good walk at any time but really good in spring when the bluebells are out in Badby Woods and butterflies are exploring the hedgerows. The route passes through some scenic Northamptonshire villages and includes small stretches of the Nene and Knightley Ways.

A lovely circular walk from the delightful village of Cropredy in the Cherwell Valley, three miles north of Banbury and close to Exit 11 on the M40. During this circular walk you will enjoy three delightful villages, some open countryside and farmland, quiet lanes and an attractive section of the Oxford Canal. This is walk 34 from the 44 composing the Millenium Way.

This trail takes you from Rugby train station to the village of Clifton upon Dunsmore following a section of the Oxford Canal and Wilmcote the Shakespeare Avon Way. Sample a different side of Rugby, with an amble along the Avon Valley through peace and quiet to the village of Clifton-upon-Dunsmore.

Starting at Gilks Garage cafe, this loop includes some underused paths and can be muddy.

Splendid walk in South East Warwickshire starting at the top of Sunrising Hill in a lay-by, then along the Cotswold escarpment to reach Edgehill. Going south, the route eventually reaches Upton House NT car park. Returning by fields then along the escarpment, with excellent views to return to the lay-by.
