Mont Martels
A walk through the Levas forest including the ascent of Mont Martels (40 m)! Lovely view of Carlencas. Along the DFCI track and paths through the woods. Very easy but unmarked: a GPS is useful.
From Brenas to the Saint-Amans Chapel
This hike takes you from Brenas to the Saint-Amans Chapel via a fairly easy and varied route.
From Brenas to Valquières via the Serre de la Bardine and the Puits des Lignières
From Brenas, climb the ridge of Mont Caussil, descend to Vernazoubres via the Chemin de Campillergues, climb up to the Serre de la Bardine and walk along the lava flow, following a section ofthe GR®7to Valquières. Climb the Col des Baumes, descend to the Puit des Lignières, then head back up to the ridge of Mont Caussil before returning to Brenas via the Ségala.

The local road from Lieude to Causse de Carlencas
Having found traces of this local road No. 13 on the 1827 land registry, I went in search of it. It starts at La Lieude and climbs up through the Las Moles valley.
This hike is reserved for experienced hikers who are familiar with the terrain and enjoy getting off the beaten track.
The path is not always easy to follow in the ruffes (red earth).
Return via Mas Bousquet and Mas Valos le Vieux and Valos le Bas.
No markings - GPS very useful.
Circular route between Vernazoubres and Brenas
Walk between the hamlet of Vernazoubres and Brenas. Passes close to Mont Caussil and returns via the Reboul traverse and the Col de la Croix de Vernazoubres.
An easy walk; all the paths are almost suitable for vehicles.
Crossing the Orb and Mare valleys
This route runs entirely within the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park. Setting off from Dio, you look out over the Orb valley before rejoining the river at Lamalou-les-Bains after crossing its tributary, the Mare, via the Pont du Diable. At the foot of the Monts d’Orb, you can see the Montagne de l’Espinouse and the cliffs of the Caroux Plateau. The views of Dio Castle, the walk through purple-coloured rock formations and a visit to the medieval village of Boussagues make this walk a delight.
Circular walk between Pézènes-les-Mines and La Braunhe
For walkers who like to venture a little off the beaten track and who have a good sense of direction. A lovely walk through the maquis, the tops of the old bauxite quarries and the Bois de Levers, mostly in the shade apart from a few sections of quiet road.
Montagne de la Boutine and the Saint-Fulcran Chapel
This easy walk takes you to the Chapel of Saint-Fulcran, where tradition holds that Saint-Fulcran – Bishop of Lodève from 949 to 1006 – was born in the vicinity. You then climb along an old path to Mas de Pradels. The return journey takes you to the Montagne de la Boutine, from where you descend via a winding track.
Chapelle Notre-Dame de Roubignac on the way to Château de Lauzières
Starting from Octon, this beautiful walk takes you to the ruins of Château de Lauzières and the 12th-century Romanesque chapel of Roubignac.
Chapelle Notre-Dame de Roubignac via the dolmens at Octon
A short but very pretty hike in the Octon hills, offering views of Lake Salagou at the start. The destination is the small Romanesque chapel of Notre-Dame de Roubignac (7), but there are other places of interest along the way, such as the dolmen and the ruins of Octon Castle, visible from the other side of the valley.
La Tour-sur-Orb and Boubals via the Brousson Chapel

An easy walk along the banks of the Orb between La Tour-sur-Orb and Le Mas Blanc.
The Béals trail
Set off to explore the village of Salasc, for a refreshing break, and its partly shaded hills, which offer views of the surrounding area and the Salagou valley. The Béals are irrigation channels that have long watered the gardens and are still used today in Salasc.
This hike may be closed depending on the fire risk level. Remember to check the map.

A discovery walk organised by the Association des Pierres Sèches en Faugérois.A short walk accessible to all, following forgotten paths rediscovered by the Association Pierres Sèches en Faugérois. It offers the chance to discover 15 carabelles – the local name for drystone shelters – among the many found in the Faugères area. The route is fully signposted in blue.

A walk through the hills above the medieval village of Boussagues, amongst the vineyards and ancient terraced fields, which can be extended with a visit to the village.

Campredon and Fontenilles, starting from the Bousquet d’Orb
A circular route, following fairly wide paths, with a lovely view of the Bousquet d’Orb.
Laval de Nize Circular
A lovely walk through the upper cantons: along the Ruisseau de Nize, then up through the boxwood trees towards the hamlet of Briandes and back via the postman’s path.
Les Mates Basses from Faugères
Features of the route: heath, holm oak forests. Discover the heritage of dry stone buildings, testimony to the work of man. The art of dry stone has been listed as UNESCO cultural heritage since 2018. At the end of the route, visit the interpretive trail.
The Causse de Boussagues
A lovely walk through rolling countryside, among vineyards and cherry trees, accessible to most people.
Puits Durand and Chapelle Saint-Sauveur at the start of Camplong
Walk around the former mining site of Camplong, where you will find the Durand Pit headframe and, at the top of the hill, in the middle of a chestnut forest, the restored 12th-century Saint-Sauveur Chapel, which overlooks Camplong, Saint-Étienne-d'Estréchoux and Graissessac. The circular dry stone wall a few dozen metres from the sanctuary is an old cemetery.
Saint-Amans Chapel from Villecun
A beautiful hike with 360° views on very good paths. The ridge section is exposed to the wind.
Villecun route via the Col de la Défriché and Lavalette
A pleasant walk, starting with unobstructed views of the highest peaks, then shaded after Lavalette. A short stretch of tarmac at the start and halfway along the route.
Les Crozes - Vailhan loop via the ruins of Tibéret
A pleasant hike with remarkable views and beautiful 360° panoramas of Mont Saint-Clair and the Mediterranean, Caroux, Pic de Vissous and Mont Baudille Séranne. We were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Canigou massif.
Le Cayroux and its ruffes
At the gateway to Lodève and Lake Salagou, on the Cayroux plateau, discover dolmens, drystone shelters and stone enclosures as you cross a landscape of "ruffes", an astonishing red earth.
Circular walk from Camplong to La Découverte on the left bank of the mining basin
A circular walk along good paths, taking in the impressive mining faces of the coalfield, followed by a visit to the small, restored Saint-Sauveur Chapel and its rural setting.
The Espaze arboretum
In a remote and uncrowded area, you will pass through valleys and ridges in the heart of the Monts-d'Orb national forest, renowned for its plantations of Laricio pines native to Corsica.
The Causse de Gely circular
A circular loop on the left bank of the Peyne climbs along the dam's reservoir opposite Vailhan to follow the local hiking trail, which is dotted with picnic tables and offers beautiful views.
Route of the Saint-Amans and Notre-Dame-de-Nize chapels
From Col de la Baraque to Chapelle de Saint-Amans via the ridges, then to Chapelle de Notre-Dame-de-Nize via a chestnut grove.
On the Falgairas plateau
Hike in the hills between Neffies, Vailhan and Les Crozes (hamlet of Cabrières). Beautiful views at the start and end of the route over the plains of Languedoc Roussillon. We were lucky that day to have a wonderful view of the Mediterranean, Canigou and the Pyrenees.
The tour of Lake Salagou from Lodève
This varied route mainly follows small roads with little traffic.
The Pic de la Coquillade from Cabrerolles
A magnificent hike starting from Cabrerolles, a beautiful little village with its 10th-century fortified castle. Inside the castle, you will see the magnificent Notre-Dame de la Roque Chapel.At the start of the route, you will find a botanical trail featuring different plant species and other plants, which is great fun for children. Finally, at the top of Pic de la Coquillade, you will have a splendid 360° view of Caroux, the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees.

The Lenthéric Mills
Discover two interesting mills, restored by the community of communes and the Cabrerolles town hall, which bear witness to a past activity entirely different from that practised today in a predominantly wine-growing environment.
The Cabrerolles Heritage Trail
The Cabrerolles Heritage Preservation Association has cleared forgotten paths to create this hike, which allows you to discover sites that are emblematic of the history of this area: the Chapel of La Liquière, the Lenthéric Mills and a memorial to an Aéropostale aviator. You will also walk among the vines of the famous Faugères vineyard. The route does not pass by Cabrerolles Castle, but we highly recommend extending your hike with a return trip to this magnificent monument.Please note: this hike is not recommended in hot weather as there is not much shade.
Circular Crozes in Neffiès
An easy hike combining open areas with views of the Pyrenees and wooded areas.
Along the route, you will see a coal mine shaft and the ruins of Tibéret, behind which is a multi-level mill powered by gravity from a water basin (now abandoned).
