Park at Col de la Baraque.
(S/E) Go down the road towards Lunas, which follows theGR®653, the Way of St James, marked in red and white. Take care with the traffic on this section. Shortly afterwards, at the fork, leave the road and keep left on theGR®. Continue until you reach a crossroads.
(1) Take the left path and continue on theGR®653. Walk along the ridges to reach theGR® crossroads.
(2) Leave theGR®653on your left and continue to the right on theGR®7, also marked in red and white. At Casplos, you will find the junction with theGRP® Haut Languedoc et Vignobles.
(3) Keep left on theGR® to reach the Chapel of Saint-Amans.
(4) Turn around to return to the previous crossroads.
(3) Take theGRP® on the left, marked in red and yellow. Stay on this path and, after crossing an old chestnut grove, you will reach the hamlet of Briandes and its educational farm.
(5) Stay on theGRP® to descend in switchbacks through a boxwood tunnel. At the bottom, join the D35E9 road just before the hamlet of Laval de Nize.
(6) Follow it to the left to pass the Chapel of Notre-Dame-de-Nize, then continue on to reach the
sign for the Fontaine des Yeux. Descend to the right for a few metres to the fountain.
(7) Turn around and go back to the road, then turn left to return to the previous crossroads.
(6) Take the yellow-markedPR® trail on the right. Walk along the Nize stream and then along a fence bordering an apple orchard. Turn left and descend into the dry stream bed. Return to the Nize via the path above the stream. Walk through the boxwood trees. Cross the Nize and you will come to a new Y-shaped crossroads.
(8) Leave thePR® here and turn left up the grassy path. At the top, walk alongside a shed. Continue to a track. Reach a bend just before the hamlet of Ladournié.
(9) Take the path on the right and follow a series of hairpin bends to overlook the hamlet. After a hairpin bend to the right, you will come to another crossroads.
(10) Turn left at this bend to continue along the track and cross the Fontanille area on a slight incline. You will find another crossroads on the ridge in a large clearing.
(11) Keep left on the track and descend gently to reach theGR® crossroads you passed on the way up.
(1) Take theGR® trail on the left, then the road to return to the Col de la Baraque car park (S/E).
