Bully (Rhône) walks

A walk starting from the typical golden stone village of Bully, offering superb views of the Monts du Lyonnais and the Monts d'Or.

Departure from the Agamy Cooperative Winery for a walk along the trails of five communes: Bully, Sarcey, Le Breuil, Chessy and Saint-Germain-sur-Arbresle. We are in the Pierres Dorées region of Beaujolais, with its hamlets such as Apinost and its wash house, the village with its school, castle, town hall and church. Continue to the hamlet of Montagny, the Crêt de Montgiron with its vineyards and, finally, the magnificent hamlet of Glay with its beautiful golden stones from the nearby quarries (which can be visited).

A very pretty walk to discover the rolling countryside around Savigny, alternating between dirt tracks and little-used roads, valley bottoms (Trésoncle) and hilltops (viewpoints).

A short walk from Saint-Romain around Mont Popey, passing through the centre of Ancy. Option to continue to the Popey ridge From the heights of Popey, you can see the Crêt d'Arjoux. This circular takes you along many paths and very few roads.

This walk will take you from Chessy station to the old quarries of Glay. The route passes through the picturesque hamlet of Glay with its golden stone houses

A lovely loop with few hills, taking you through vineyards and forests. You will discover the golden stone village of Glay and pass by Courbeville Castle. You will also discover the village of Chessy with its castle and 12th-15th century church.

The region has prehistoric and ancient remains, particularly from the Gallo-Roman period. Two temples are said to have existed, one on the Arjoux mountain and the other, dedicated to Jupiter, near the Mas Saint-Jean. Silver mines were worked nearby in the 15th century.

Beautiful 360° view at Mont Popey on the northern edge of the Monts du Lyonnais with, as a bonus in good weather, a breathtaking view to the east of the Monts d'Or, the Alps and Mont Blanc. Interesting ridge trail in the forest or open countryside, well marked with beautiful views. A paragliding launch site where, in good weather, you can enjoy the spectacular views! The climb up Mont Popey and the descent to Mas Saint-Jean are a little steep, but take your time!

A lovely, easy route with a section in the woods, stream crossings and a passage near the Villefranche-Tarare aerodrome, which can be quite busy at weekends and therefore generate some noise. A pleasant view of the Beaujolais mountains and the golden stone villages.

This is a short hike to the Fouillet Chapel (Sourcieux-les-Mines) from the centre of Lentilly. Orientation table at the chapel, beautiful view in all directions in good weather. Exceptional panorama at an altitude of 500 m over the Monts du Lyonnais and Beaujolais, the Lyon metropolitan area and the Alps. You can enjoy this view for a long time from the heights of Mosouvre, where you can see the valley towards Arbresle.

This circuit is a microcosm of everything that makes the Pierres Dorées region of the Beaujolais so rich and charming: some of the most beautiful villages (Bagnols, Moiré), churches and chapels, crosses and castles, wash houses and splendid panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, vineyards and forests.

A beautiful loop in the forest between two of the main passes in the Monts du Lyonnais. A breath of fresh air and a little warm-up just a stone's throw from the city of Lyon.

This loop takes the Chemin du Tacot and returns via a pretty ridge sheltered by old box trees.

A short loop for an afternoon stroll from the Col de la Luère. A very pleasant route, entirely in the forest, on easy paths and trails.

This loop takes you on a journey of discovery through an original and unique area, shaped by yellow ochre limestone, before you stroll through the medieval village of Oingt, listed as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France", with its golden stone houses welcoming artists and craftsmen. The village enjoys an exceptional view over the Azergues valley.

A refreshing hike between Pollionnay, La Croix du Ban, Col de la Luère and the Château de Saint-Bonnet le Froid. Much of this route is through woodland.

This loop, starting from the old village of Ternand, winds its way through the vineyards of the Beaujolais region and the deep Brou forest. The circuit begins with a visit to the pretty medieval village of Ternand. The route follows small roads and easy paths and offers beautiful views of the surrounding Beaujolais mountains, from Létra to Oingt.

This is a large loop offering several views of the Lyon area and, on a clear day, even Mont Blanc and the Alps. You will also discover the Beaujolais des Pierres Dorées (Oingt, Le Bois d'Oingt, Moirée, etc.) and part of the Tarare Mountains. No major difficulties to expect, the route passes along forest tracks, trails and a small section of tarmac (D629, very little traffic).
