Park near the church in Sourcieux-les-Mines.
(S/E) From the car park, walk up the hill alongside the church, cross Rue du Paradis and continue to the crossroads.
(1) Climb up to the chapel, turning left to enjoy a superb view of the Monts d'Or, the Monts du Lyonnais and the Beaujolais. Then descend and arrive at the crossroads.
(1) Turn left to continue downhill.
(2) On Route d'Éveux, turn right and join the D7, which you will need to cross. This is the least pleasant and even dangerous part of the route, as cars drive fast on this section of road. Cross, turn left as soon as you can and stay to the right of the road until you reach the first intersection.
(3) Turn right onto the road that climbs slightly. You will arrive at meadows occupied by horses with a beautiful view of the Château de Malatray. When you reach the château, continue straight ahead on a short stretch of road. At the intersection, cross over and turn right along an old wall.
(4) Just after this wall, turn left down the path. Continue along this path, avoiding the large puddles by walking around them. You will then arrive at Château du Poirier.
(5) Turn right to cross the Ruisseau du Poirier stream. Then, continue straight ahead after the stream, leaving two paths on your left.
(6) At a crossroads, you can turn left to descend towards Ruisseau de Larny. Return to the path and continue left towards Larny, leaving several paths on either side. In Larny, first turn left then right to rejoin the path and climb towards Jeu de Quilles. Ignore a path on the right and left to reach a crossroads.
(7) Take the path opposite slightly to the right, continue straight ahead at the following intersections to reach the highest point of the hike.
(8) Now turn right to begin the descent. At the house, turn right to go downhill and arrive at a fork in the road, take the path on the left. Continue downhill, staying on the main path, then cross a stream bed. Continue straight ahead, then turn right to leave the forest and climb steeply uphill.
(9) On this path, you will have a superb view of the Monts d'Or and the Château de Malatray. Continuing on, you will arrive at the hamlet of Crêt. Continue straight ahead at the intersections and arrive at Jannot.
(10) In this hamlet, stay on the path that descends straight ahead without worrying about the forks. You will pass under the D7 to arrive in Sourcieux-les-Mines.
(11) Take the road on the left (Rue des Roches). In front of the fire station, turn right onto Rue du Sarrazin. Continue, pass the two streets on the right and take the third to arrive back on a path.
(12) Follow Chemin des Mineurs and at the end of it, turn right to go up Chemin de Baudette. Cross Rue de la Source and turn left towards the town centre and the starting point (S/E).
