Panoramic looping route through the Bois des Abrigeaux
Not far from Vaison-La-Romaine, the upper reaches of the village of Buisson offer a balcony route for most of this itinerary. On minor roads, forest tracks and paths, between vineyards and undergrowth, walkers can admire the Aygues valley, the Lance mountain and those of the Baronnies provençales, the distinctive skyline drawn by Mont Ventoux, the Saint Amand ridge and the Dentelles de Montmirail, while in the foreground, crops and hedges offer a lush bocage landscape.

A unique drystone shelter and the Saint-Siffrein Chapel in Vaison-La-Romaine
A very pretty hike in the southern hills above Vaison-La-Romaine. Alternating between small paths, forest roads, footpaths and even the bed of a dry river, the route will take you to a very large drystone shelter in perfect condition, an outdoor charcoal kiln and a very old chapel. Sheltered from the mistral wind, this hike is as pleasant in winter as it is in summer.
Magnum Trail
Set off to explore the Cairanne vineyards with their plots of vines nestled in the woods!
Created by the winegrowers of Cairanne, this semi-shaded trail will take you to new heights. The walk begins in the direction of the Col du Débat. You will then take the Route du Feu towards the heights of Montagne de Ventabren. From there, you will enjoy magnificent views of the Dentelles de Montmirail and Mont Ventoux. You will descend through the vineyards to reach the Old Village and return to the Maison du Cairanne.
Bouteille Trail
The winegrowers of Cairanne are proud to offer you this discovery trail through the vineyards. Ideal for an outing with family or friends, this circular will guide you to the heights of the Col du Débat. Throughout your ascent, you will enjoy magnificent views of the village and the surrounding hills. You will then descend through the vineyards towards the Old Village before returning to the Maison du Cairanne.
Circular Séguret
A pleasant, easy hike. Climb up to the castle (superb view) via the botanical trail, then descend along the ramparts towards the llamas, who will be very curious to see you. You will enjoy the forest, which is very pleasant in summer. Return via the very pretty village of Séguret.
Vallon de Prébayon and Notre-Dame d'Aubusson
A tour of the countryside around Séguret to discover the Vallon de Prébayon and the ruins of its monastery, then the Notre-Dame d'Aubusson chapel.
Around Saint-Romain-en-Viennois
Walk under the pine and holm oak trees in the hills above Saint-Romain-en-Viennois. There are some lovely views of Mont Ventoux along the way. Between paths and forest roads, this often shaded walk is most pleasant.

Piégon and the Giants’ hamlet
In the mountains of the Baronnies, imagine a lost hamlet inhabited by giants... Skeletons with very long shins were found in the crypt of the chapel. They are the source of the name of the locality.

Gigondas and the Dentelles Sarrasines
A sensational hike offering sublime panoramic views at the Dentelles Sarrasines.
This hike is a variation of the above, allowing you to bypass the Dentelles Sarrasines via their southern face.
Caution: do not undertake this hike the day after rain or in strong winds.
Les Trois Yeux and Les Dentelles Sarrasines from Gigondas
A loop accessible via wide paths for walking close to the Dentelles without being an experienced hiker. A moderate, steady climb will be rewarded with exceptional panoramic views of both the Rhône valley and a hilly landscape with terraced vineyards, magnified by the sharp outline of the limestone Dentelles. The silhouette of Mont Ventoux, the star of the Haut Vaucluse, can be seen in the distance to the west.

A hike for everyone. You will find typical Mediterranean vegetation, protected flora and fauna. Equip yourself with good walking shoes and water. Respect nature and the silence (take your rubbish with you). Making fires, picking flowers and wild camping are strictly prohibited. Only follow the waymarking colours mentioned in the description.
Entrechaux and its castle

An easy loop for exploring the Dentelles.
The Dentelles de Montmirail: this is a mountain range forming thefirst foothills of the Alps in the Rhône valley. It includes the Clapis range, the Grand Montmirail, the Dentelles Sarrasines, the Crête de la Salle, the Crête de Cayron and the Crête Saint-Amand.
This loop trail takes you through the heart of the three main ranges, along wide tracks and paths through the woods.
There are numerous viewpoints, including the Rocher du Midi viewpoint.

Short tour of the Dentelles Sarrasines
A promising little tour of the Dentelles de Montmirail, without too much difficulty. After an initial climb, the rest is relatively easy.
After several comments, I would like to point out that this is a hike, not a short family walk suitable for all ages. It is steep and rocky, and you are at the summit. Otherwise, stay on the DFCI trail below and climb only to the Rocher du Midi.
Wine Growers' Trail through the safres of Rousset-les-Vignes
A beautiful, sunny circular loop, relatively sheltered from the Mistral wind, which allows you to visit two charming villages in the Drôme Provençale. The route winds its way through vineyards and olive groves, offering beautiful views of the Valréas plain, the south-west of the Baronnies and as far as Mont Ventoux, with an original passage through the safres hills.Due to the presence of numerous trails that are not all listed on the IGN map, we recommend using the app's GPS on this route.
Circular via Notre-Dame de Santé and the Château d'Urdy
An easy circular starting from Saint-Pantaléon-les-Vignes, surrounded by cherry and apricot trees, vineyards and lavender fields, offering beautiful views of the Valréas plain, La Lance and the western Baronnies Provençales.The first part is on small, quiet tarmac roads in the sun, but most of the route is in the shade of the woods on wide paths and a few trails.

A very beautiful hike starting from Nyons. The route follows mostly marked trails (GR®9and yellowPR® markings) through oak and boxwood undergrowth. The scent of thyme often accompanies us. The ridges of Saint-Amand
This circuit allows you to discover the ridges of Saint-Amand and enjoy a 360° view of the Rhône Valley, the Drôme, Mont Ventoux, the Monts de Vaucluse, the Alpilles and, of course, the Dentelles de Montmirail.
The ridges of the Petites and Grandes Dentelles de Montmirail
A short loop to discover these two characteristic rock formations as well as Saint-Christophe's Chapel, which protects the site, taking a less conventional route.
Col Flachet from Nyons
A relatively easy mountain bike ride, although a little technical on the descent to Combe Sauve. There is little traffic on the paved sections. You will ride through broom and goats, if they are out, and can stop at Col Flachet to enjoy the view, as it will be too late afterwards, as the descent is through oak trees.
Col de Croix Rouge - Col de la Croix - Garde Grosse
This loop of around 27 km, with no major difficulties and regular climbs, allows you to discover the Nyons region and its most famous peak, Garde Grosse. The paved roads are quiet, except for cyclists. In spring, there are a few streams where you can cool off.
Bassin des Druides and castle in Montségur-sur-Lauzon
Discover the remains of local history: 11th-century Barquets Chapel, 1852 Martinet aqueduct bridge, Druids' Basin, 19th-century pumping stations, traces of an old quarry and troglodyte dwellings, St-Jean Chapel, ruins of the castle that was once the hideout of the Baron des Adrets.
The Tour du Courbiou from Venterol
A walk that takes us over small mountains through pine trees, oak trees, vineyards and lavender fields. A condensed version of the Drôme Provençale starting from the medieval fortified village of Venterol with its characteristic wrought iron bell tower.
A hike to be enjoyed in spring, autumn and winter, but not recommended in summer due to the heat.
The Col d'Aubenas circular starting from Nyons
A half-day's walk to tire yourself out a little, circular from Nyons, surrounded by olive trees, with lovely aerial views. The route winds through the forest and then follows the River Eygues.
The millstones at Colonzelle
Family walk along the Lez. Different crops, including lavender, oak trees and vineyards, contrast with the cliffs. Pass through the quarry carved into the sandstone where thousands of millstones were carved for the mills.
The Dentelles tour
Following the paths that wind through the rows of vines, this tour takes you to the foot of the rocky bars of the Dentelles de Montmirail, finely chiselled against the Provencal sky, with Mont Ventoux as a backdrop.

Dentelles de Montmirail, the Clapis tour starting from Lafare
An ideal half-day hike to discover the Dentelles de Montmirail, starting from the village of Lafare.
There are no markings on this hike, so you will need to make good use of a map and GPS.

The Tour de l'Oulle with return via the Combe de Sauve
From the hamlet of Novézan in the commune of Venterol, a circular at the western end of the Baronnies Provençales Regional Park. Nestled between the mountains, almost entirely sheltered from the Mistral wind, this route offers a beautiful hike with varied landscapes: vineyards, pine and oak woods, mountains and rocky faults, lavender and olive groves, not to mention La Sauve and its water holes where you can cool off.

Walk in the woods of the Montagne between Sérignan du Comtat and Uchaux.
Around Châteauneuf-de-Bordette
A short hike that can be completed in half a day, with views of the Lance and Ventoux mountains and the Baronnies.
Tour of the Vacqueyras vineyard
Take the time to discover Vacqueyras in a different way! The winegrowers and merchants of Vacqueyras invite you to discover their beautiful landscapes between vineyards and heathland. This walking trail will guide you through vineyards and rural paths to the Garrigues plateau and back to the starting point in the centre of the village of Vacqueyras.
Dentelles Sarrasines and crossing of Rocher du Turk from Vacqueyras
This circular walk starts from Vacqueyras and ascends to the Dentelles Sarrasines through fields of vines to Col, d'Alsau. From here a steep path leads up to the foot of the crags and follows the climber's path to the gap next to Rocher du Turk. From here the path descends on the other side of the crag and drops to the valley to pick up tracks and paths back to Vacqueyras via more fields of vines and woods. This walk is quite shaded in many places which makes it an option even in July or August. (In summer check for fire risk see practical information.)
On the trail of the drystone shelters of Chamaret
A circular loop, mostly shaded by undergrowth, where the trails are regularly used by the inhabitants of Chamaret and neighbouring villages. There are therefore many tracks, so you will need to remain vigilant if you want to find the well-hidden drystone shelters. In addition to the description, we recommend using the app's GPS.
Le Barroux from Malaucène
A beautiful circuit that starts in Malaucène, at the foot of the Ventoux, and takes you around the magnificent Château du Barroux.
The Arfuyen Ridges
Starting from Sainte-Madeleine Abbey at Barroux, this is quite a wild route offering many views over Mont Ventoux, the Dentelles de Montmirail and the surrounding plains.
Circular starting from La Roque-Alric
The route passes successively through two peaks near La Roque-Alric to reach Le Barroux, then returns via Le Devès. It mainly consists of paths through the woods, some of which are steep, but unfortunately there is a section of tarmac road after Le Barroux.
Notre-Dame-de-Beauvoir in Rousset-les-Vignes

Malaucène - The 3 combes
A beautiful circuit which, starting from the Malaucène paper mill, takes you up to the Chapelle de Piaud and then on to the combes of Grand Barbeirol, Brame Fam and Comentige. Finally, you reach a disused gypsum quarry, the spring and Notre Dame du Groseau.

This walk takes you to the Saint-Blaise priory and the ruins of La Viale, as well as through ravines carved out of ochre veins.

There is a climb of nearly 900 metres to reach the summit of La Lance. This hike can sometimes be quite strenuous.
