Circular loop at Le Crestet

The walk starts on Chemin de la Verrière. There’s a car park by the roadside.

(S/E) Walk about 500 metres towards the Domaine du Chêne Bleu. You’ll come across the first DFCI track on the left, but carry on along the road. 

(1) At the second junction with a DFCI track, take the track on the left, then immediately leave the track and follow a path that descends to a small stream and crosses it. After a steep climb, you’ll reach a signposted path.

(2) Turn right, heading south-west. 200 m further on, you’ll reach the junction with the GR®.

(3) Turn left to climb up to the Pas du Loup via the GR®. 

(4) Enjoy the sweeping view of Mont Ventoux, then turn back. 

(3) Continue along the GR® opposite until you reach the road. 

(5) Turn right onto the road and follow it until you reach the junction you passed on the way there.

(1) Follow the route back in the opposite direction to return to the car park (S/E).

I wouldn’t recommend this walk after a spell of heavy rain, as the paths will be muddy and I’m not sure you’ll be able to cross the little stream without getting your shoes wet. 

In summer, when it’s very hot, do remember to take plenty of water with you – there are no places to buy refreshments along the way. The walk is relatively well shaded. 

If you’re coming via the village of Le Crestet, make the most of the view from the castle and enjoy a lovely stroll through the castle’s narrow streets.
