Bourg-lès-Valence walks

Mountain bike or hybrid bike ride between Bourg-lès-Valence and La Roche-de-Glun, via the Voie Verte and wide paths along the Rhône.

A circular loop around the Crussol massif, passing by the three castles in the commune of Saint-Péray. Its main attraction is the quick ascent to the Crussol ridge, offering views of the Rhône valley and Crussol Castle from above on the south side. The route takes an hour to walk, but feel free to allow twice that time to enjoy the sites you pass through at your leisure.

Explore the ruins of La Villette and Crussol Castle, followed by a long walk along the ridges offering views of the Rhône valley and the Vercors.

This walk will take you past the vineyards that produce the famous Saint-Péray wine. You’ll be right up close to the Marsanne and Roussane vines, trained on stakes. This route also offers beautiful views of the town of Saint-Péray, Crussol Hill and its castle, as well as the Vercors in the distance.

A short, leisurely stroll along the Mialan, to enjoy the views of Crussol Mountain, its castle, the vineyards, and above all the stream, which flows in autumn and winter but is dry at other times. This is a classic Sunday afternoon walk for all residents of Saint-Perolles.

A short walk in the Bois des Blaches along the Ruisseau du Saveyre, then up to the heights in the middle of the vineyards, first in Saint-Péray, then in Cornas. Return via the track linking Cornas to Saint-Péray. Please note that due to roadworks on the St Péray bypass, the return journey between points 10 and 11 is temporarily impossible. Continue along the D 86 on the footpath and cycle path to reach point 11 directly.

Starting from Saint-Péray, another way to explore the Roche Percée des Arlettes in Cornas. A walk offering numerous panoramic views of Crussol Castle, the Rhône Valley, the Vercors, the Trois Becs and as far as the Diois, plus the magnificent vineyards of Saint-Péray and Cornas.

Walk in the hills above Saint-Peray, passing through the Cornas vineyards, the meadows of Saint-Romain and the woods of Saint-Péray.

An easy hike between the plains of Saint-Péray and Cornas. We quickly move from the town to the countryside. The path along the railway line between St-Péray and Cornas is no longer accessible due to work on the St-Péray bypass.At (2), follow the D86 towards Cornas, then take the first street on your right after the Cornas petrol station to reach the level crossing (between 3 and 4).

A ride on the peaks of the Massif de Crussol, 20 minutes from Valencia via the castle.

Starting from the Eygas plateau in Cornas, we climb to Saint-Romain-de-Lerps with a magnificent view of the Rhône valley and, in good weather, from Mont Ventoux to Mont Blanc via the Vercors and the Ecrins.Along the route, you’ll pass the chapels of Saint-Pierre and Le Pic, as well as a host of small hamlets.
