Park in the Intermarché car park in Soyons.
(S/E) Cross the car park to reach the Chemin du Ruisseau, then turn left onto Rue Gustave Eiffel. You will reach a four-way junction.
(1) Continue straight ahead into the Freydières district, turn right onto Chemin de Provence until you reach the junction with the Voie Verte or Via Rhôna.
(2) Take this straight ahead and follow the right bank of the Rhône until you reach a lay-by at the entrance to Soyons.
(3) Leave the Via Rhôna, turn right, walk past the football stadium and you will then come to a small tunnel.
(4) Go through it on the right to pass under the railway line. At the exit, take the stairs, but be careful as they lead straight onto the N86. Cross it at the pedestrian crossing, but take great care when doing so, then continue uphill along Chemin du Vivier, which heads off to the left.
(5) At the Grottes de Soyons junction, turn right and, after some 300 steps, you’ll reach a fork. Go left, almost level, and head to the next fork, about ten metres past a metal staircase on the left (access to the Grotte Renard).
(6) Continue the climb to the right and reach the plateau. Ignore a poorly marked path branching off to the left, and, at the next fork, climb left until you reach the Serre de Guercy viewpoint. Continue on to the multi-way junction at Serre d’Aurouze.
(7) Turn right, then left at the next junction to reach a new four-way junction at the Jaulan signpost.
(8) Take the road on the right, then leave it atthe first bend and continue straight ahead along the track. Walk alongside the fields, then the edge of the woods to reach theGR®®42at the Fondasses junction.
(9) Take it to the right and now follow the red and white markings. At the hamlet of Saint-Christol, you can leave theGR®® to the right to reach a pleasant picnic area.
(10) Return to theGR®® on the left, then turn right onto it. Cross a road at the hamlet of Pinet, where you will also find another spot suitable for a picnic.
(11) Continue along theGR®® to the crossroads located about a hundred metres from the Termes roundabout.
(12) Leave theGR®® here by turning right, then turn left onto the Chemin des Côtes and walk for about 300 m. Then turn left onto the gently ascending path running alongside the fields, reaching the edge of the woods.
(13) Take the small path on the right to enter and descend into the forest. Continue on until you reach the Chemin de la Côte road at a bend.
(14) Turn left onto it, taking care of the traffic. It is best to walk in the gutter here for safety reasons. Continue along Chemin des Hautes Frédières until you reach a roundabout.
(15) Go round the roundabout on the right and follow the Impasse des Hautes Frédières, which continues through a passage under the railway line. Then take the Impasse de l’Île and you will return to the original junction.
(1) Turn left and retrace your steps along the route you took on the way there to return to the car park at the Intermarché in Soyons (S/E).
