A history of lakes in the Vallée d'Abondance
Set off to explore a mountain lake, which you can walk around, and, a little higher up, an ancient lake that is now filled in, located at the foot of a valley dominated by impressive cliffs. A route with a moderate elevation gain, featuring numerous information panels, which can be an opportunity for an educational family walk.

A little-visited summit, rising to the south of the village of Abondance. Beautiful mountain atmosphere at the Chalets d'Ardens, dominated by the north face of the Pointe de la Chavache. Superb 360° panorama from the summit.
The hike offers the most direct route to the summit. For the return trip, there are three circular loops to choose from, which everyone can take or not, depending on the conditions, their fitness level or their inspiration.

An original route to reach Lake Darbon. The outward journey takes place in a wilder and less frequented setting than the usual route from the Chalets de Bise, which are crossed on the return journey due to a closed path on the original route.
