To the west of Marseille, the Côte Bleue owes its name to the colour of the sea. The coastal path offers spectacular views of quiet little ports, sunny creeks and secluded beaches. In the distance, Marseille... and above all, the Mediterranean Sea.

A short walk in a protected area on the edge of the Étang de Berre and its industries. All the vegetation of the wetlands, birds galore. Moderator's note Please note that part of this loop is closed between April and July. See notices.

A beautiful walk through vineyards, lavender fields and olive groves, as well as forests. Glimpses of stone lacework and a pretty chapel. A Mediterranean landscape with hilltop villages stretching as far as the eye can see.

Starting from Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, a beautiful walk along large, clearly-marked, shady trails. Beautiful viewpoints over the Alpilles, the village and the château des Baux-de-Provence. The fragrant plants of the South and also pines and even cedars.

A circular eight-shaped loop between forest and heath that allows you to admire Mont Ventoux and discover evidence of pastoral life in days gone by (rain water reservoirs carved into rock, drystone shelters, etc.).

This walk takes you to the Saint-Blaise priory and the ruins of La Viale, as well as through ravines carved out of ochre veins.

This hike allows you to visit a pretty village and the remains of one of the oldest abbeys in Gaul, as well as enjoy the landscapes of the Drôme. With a bit of luck, the vultures of Rocher du Caire will accompany you along the way.

A hike between two magnificent villages at the foot of Mont Ventoux, between heathland and forests. As a bonus, there is a beautiful Roman bridge over the Toulourenc.

A peaceful walk that starts in a shady valley, approaches the Rocher des Abeilles, and crosses the heath of the Var plateaus. Please note that fires ravaged this area during the summer of 2017.

A hike above the Asse Valley offering views of the narrow Melle Gorges and the landscapes of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. You can climb to 1,200 metres, where an isolated chapel on the plateau is the only remnant of a hamlet that was home to great acts of resistance before being destroyed.

The trail follows an ancient irrigation canal, the Gramorel Canal, which runs sometimes in the open air and sometimes in large conduits of varying ages. It is possible to continue on to the Pisse waterfall.

An easy, well-marked hike that starts at the Ubrieux Gorges and continues through olive groves, vineyards, orchards and forests, not to mention a few passes and the sometimes rugged landscapes of the Baronnies.

An easy walk in the Massif des Maures. Beautiful trails, rivers, streams, lakes and unique terrain. Not to mention the cork oaks, characteristic of the massif, and a varied flora (dwarf irises, anemones, orchids, etc.). An easy, short walk to discover the ruins of the feudal castle of Saint-Sauveur above Rocbaron. Moderator's note Some people had difficulty finding the return route. See reviews

A walk through the Var forests, alternating between trails and wide tracks, and from Pilon Saint-Clément, a path along the cliffs with magnificent views of the sea.

This walk takes you through the Aiguilles de Valbelle site, with its rocky peaks rising out of the forest. Beautiful forest tracks, a few footpaths and the Chartreuse Notre-Dame de Montrieux (which cannot be visited).

A walk in the Luberon that includes a visit to the beautiful village of Viens, some of its hamlets and chapels. Views of the ochre cliffs of Rustrel and Gignac, beautiful trails and forest passages. Geological curiosities (slab with footprints).

An easy loop that follows both banks of a pretty torrent, with a possible stop at the Tourond refuge. With a bit of luck, you may be greeted by a few marmots. You can extend the walk to the Pisse waterfall

An easy walk on pretty paths and wide tracks facing the cliffs of Sainte-Baume. 8/11/2023: Hike modified due to an obstruction onthe GR® between (5) and (7).

A beautiful walk through the forests and heaths of the Luberon with many traces of rural activity (beautiful ruins of Lausemolan, cisterns, wells and rain water reservoirs carved into rock) but also the Wall of the Plague and beautiful views of Mont Ventoux.

A gentle walk with little elevation gain, on wide, sunny tracks, among kermes oaks, pines and Provençal herbs. Views of the Étang de Berre lagoon and, at times, Montagne Sainte-Victoire.

In the Sainte-Victoire region, there is an easy circular in the heath with several points of interest: the Citadel oppidum, the Lambruisse farm and chapel, and the Sinne observatory. Beautiful views of Sainte-Victoire and even the Alps.

A circular route starting from the hamlet of Mélan takes you to the Sommet du Corbeau, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Durance valley and the Massif des Monges. The route alternates between wide tracks, open landscapes and forest passages. It is not difficult.

A circular eight-shaped loop starting from the village of Esparron-de-Verdon. A round trip takes you to the pretty site of the "Salle à Manger" in the lower Gorges du Verdon (access to water possible). After starting on a small road, the route alternates between rocky paths and wide tracks. There are some lovely views of the lake and glimpses of the plateaus of Provence and its lavender fields.

Circular route in the heart of the Alpilles that takes you along the ridges of the Caume. It offers unobstructed views stretching from the Crau plain to Mont Ventoux. You will no doubt be flown over by gliders taking off from the small Romanin airport at the foot of the Caume

A walk on the southern slopes of the Luberon above Cucuron. An easy route that includes a visit to the two very pretty villages of Cucuron and Vaugines.

A varied and easy hike that combines a climb up a pretty valley, a crossing of wide plateaus, open landscapes stretching from the Montagne de Lure to the Alpine peaks, and a visit to the beautiful Priory of Ganagobie.

This hike on the edge of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence offers a varied route through forests, rocky outcrops and even a riverbed. It is not particularly difficult, although some descents can be a little steep. It also gives you the opportunity to visit the pretty Saint-Pierre Chapel, tucked away in the woods.
