Compulsory parking at the start of the Route de la Chartreuse just after crossing the River Gapeau.
(S/E) Leave the car park and follow the narrow road up alongside the stream, reaching a sharp bend with an oratory shortly afterwards.
(1) Take the track that starts off to the left, almost making a U-turn. At the first fork in the road, stay on the left-hand track until you reach a buried cistern. Do not follow the track as it descends, but take the wide path on the right that climbs the slope.
Stay on this path, which runs through the forest for almost 2km. Stay on the main path until you pass a meadow. Shortly afterwards (approx. 400m), take the small path, well signposted in Yellow and Green, which starts abruptly on the left. Continue along this path until you reach a good track at a high point.
(2) Turn right. Continue on this track, sometimes cemented, until you catch up with the GR®9.
(3) Follow it to the right towards Signes. Cross some beautiful woodland and after several bends you will reach the Aiguilles de Valbelle.
(4) Continue on the GR® towards La Lucrèce. Reach a crossroads marked by a yawing bend.
(5) Leave the GR® and stay on the track, following the yellow markings. After another easy climb, reach Montreux-le-Vieux at a high point.
(6) Continue downhill to reach the Chartreuse Notre-Dame de Montrieux.
(7) At the Chartreuse, take the narrow road back to the original crossroads.
(1) Turn left, in the opposite direction, to return to the car park (S/E).
