A magnificent hike in the Cévennes, mostly on trails through chestnut and arbutus trees.

A lovely walk on the heights of Châteaubourg, with stunning views over the Rhône Valley and the hillsides of Saint-Joseph. Unfortunately, the end of the walk is on tarmac (very little traffic).

Walk in the hills above Saint-Peray, passing through the Cornas vineyards, the meadows of Saint-Romain and the woods of Saint-Péray.

A beautiful hike on the high plateaus of the Vercors. On the ridges of Rocher de Séguret, Roche Rousse and Pierre Blanche, you are sure to encounter deer, ibex and, with a bit of luck, marmots. Most of the hike is off the marked trails, so be sure to use the GPX track as everything looks the same. This hike is difficult due to its elevation gain (950m) and is very strenuous.

Starting from the Eygas plateau in Cornas, we climb to Saint-Romain-de-Lerps with a magnificent view of the Rhône valley and, in good weather, from Mont Ventoux to Mont Blanc via the Vercors and the Ecrins.Along the route, you’ll pass the chapels of Saint-Pierre and Le Pic, as well as a host of small hamlets. See Practical Information. The return route has been altered due to a new road closure.

After a long climb, a 360° view awaits you on the ridges.

Randonnée des faubourgs de Saint-Péray au vallon du Jergne et retour par le Serre de Blacher avec vue par temps clair sur la chaîne alpine (le Mont Blanc), le Vercors, le Diois et les montagnes du Sud drômois.

Starting from Talencieux, the route passes by Lac de Vert, then the Midon tunnel and a short detour through the countryside before returning to the old railway line to cross the Thorrenc Viaduct, the Thorrenc Tunnel and the Thorrenson Viaduct. Don't forget a headlamp or other light for crossing the two tunnels.

This walk is a variation on the Cornas la Borne route. The first section offers a lovely walk above the Cornas vineyards, returning via familiar paths between (6) and (12) on the other route. The second variation involves the descent to the village of Cornas.

A pleasant little walk around the Crussol site. First, a balcony path on the Guilherand-Granges side with views of the Rhône Valley, the Vercors, the Diois and beyond, then on the return journey a balcony path on the Ruisseau du Miallan side with views of the Ardèche, Saint-Péray and its vineyards. A word of advice: download the GPX track – there are a multitude of paths branching off on both sides along the route.

A relatively easy short hike on the Font d'Urle plateau. Magnificent scenery on the Ambel plateau, the Quint valley, the Trois Becs, the Glandasse, the Vercors mountain range and the whole of southern Drôme.

An easy hike between the plains of Saint-Péray and Cornas. We quickly move from the town to the countryside. The path along the railway line between St-Péray and Cornas is no longer accessible due to work on the St-Péray bypass.At (2), follow the D86 towards Cornas, then take the first street on your right after the Cornas petrol station to reach the level crossing (between 3 and 4).

A pleasant little hike for a leisurely outing. Beautiful view of the Toulaud plain, the Ardèche foothills and the Crussol massif.

A lovely walk around the Auberge du Pin, home to the famous Restaurant Pic. Beautiful views of the Vercors after the Serre de Coudiol and towards Perrier. A few tarmac roads but not too much traffic except on the Route des Crêtes.

A pleasant walk, mostly through the commune of Champis with a short detour into Alboussière. Very pleasant little paths. Take great care at the several crossings or sections walking alongside the Departmental Road and the small tarmac roads connecting to the footpaths.

A walk starting from Les Vernades, in the commune of Rosières, passing by the Maison Bulle, the Chapias Tower, the heights of Labeaume, the hamlet of Peyrole in Ruons, the submersible bridge at Labeaume, and returning via the Gorges de la Baume and the hanging gardens. (See practical information).

A very pleasant walk along the paths of the commune of Champis, with a short detour into the communes of Saint-Romain-de-Lerps and Saint-Sylvestre. You’ll cross numerous small streams, including the Ozon and the Duzon. The walk follows mainly marked trails, eitherGR®® (white and red) orPR®® (white and yellow).

Starting from Saint-Péray, another way to explore the Roche Percée des Arlettes in Cornas. A walk offering numerous panoramic views of Crussol Castle, the Rhône Valley, the Vercors, the Trois Becs and as far as the Diois, plus the magnificent vineyards of Saint-Péray and Cornas.

A short, very easy walk along the banks of the Rhône, first on the Ardèche side and then on the Drôme side.

Route starting from the Auberge du Pin, passing through the Col de Leyrisse. A third of the route is on small roads with very little traffic.

This is a relatively easy hike in the Léoncel National Forest, mostly on cross-country ski or snowshoe trails. It is a very pleasant walk in warm weather, as almost the entire route is in the shade.

A short, gentle walk around Saint-Romain-de-Lerps, mostly on the GR®420 trail, which takes you from the Belvédère du Pic (with an extraordinary 360° view) to the Col de Gazareau, passing through the hamlets of Combes and Beauliac.

A short walk in the Bois des Blaches along the Ruisseau du Saveyre, then up to the heights in the middle of the vineyards, first in Saint-Péray, then in Cornas. Return via the track linking Cornas to Saint-Péray. Please note that due to roadworks on the St Péray bypass, the return journey between points 10 and 11 is temporarily impossible. Continue along the D 86 on the footpath and cycle path to reach point 11 directly.

A very pleasant hike along the Chassezac, then on the Sentier des Drystone Shelters. Return via the Sentier Roche and a small wood in Païolive. Superb landscape of the Ardèche Cévennes.I recommend using the GPX track as there are countless small paths.Hike for experienced hikers. I rated the walk as difficult not because of its length or elevation gain, but because of the many rocky areas and scree slopes to cross. It is physically demanding between (9) and (10) and from (15) to (S/E) Warning: do not attempt this hike in rainy weather as the rocky, limestone terrain is very slippery.

A very pleasant short walk starting from the station, which first takes us to the centre of Saint-Péray, then to the left bank of the Mialan, then along country lanes and finally along the balcony path beneath the Crussol ridges.

A lovely walk in the hills above Saint-Clair and Boulieu-lès-Annonay. There’s a little bit of tarmac road, but not too much. On the other hand, there are magnificent views of the Vercors range – from the Grande Moucherolle to the Veymont, then from the Trois Becs to the Rhône valley – followed by the Sécheras and Quintenas plateaus and the whole of the Annonay plain.
