Start from the forest car park at the junction of the D269 and the access road to the hamlet of Théollier.
(S/E) Cross the D269 and follow theGR®®420(red and white markings) straight ahead (east). After about 300 m, you’ll reach a small tarmac road.
(1) Follow it to the left (north), still on theGR®®. Ignore a turn-off to the right, go downhill and pass the Maison des Blaches. The road then gives way to a path. Cross the Ruisseau du Chazal.
(2) Shortly afterwards, cross the Ozon. Turn immediately left then right, still following the GR®®. Climb up to reach the hamlet of Magnon.
(3) Follow a small, gently ascending road to the left. After about 200 m, leave the road and take a path to the left between a fence and an embankment. Continue to follow theGR®® until you reach a T-junction (hiking signpost “Baratières-le-Bas”).
(4) Leave theGR®® and take a path down to the left. You’ll reach a junction with a bridge on the left just before the hamlet of Girardin.
(5) Do not take this bridge over the Ozon; turn right and follow the River Duzon on your left.
(6) Cross the stream via a bridge and head uphill on the other side. Pass through the hamlet of Les Prés and then Les Fontettes. Turn right, reach the D287, follow it to the left and downhill for about 250 m until you reach the junction leading to the hamlet of Liaurat,
(7) Turn sharply left, leaving the D287. Follow the path heading south-south-west.
(8) When the path turns sharply right, continue straight on. Follow a path between two hedges and head downhill. Take the Michelas footbridge over the Duzon and continue along the steeply ascending path opposite. You will emerge onto a small road; follow it to the right and immediately reach a junction with the D269.
(9) Follow it to the left and downhill (take great care with traffic). Cross the Duzon and you will immediately reach a junction.
(10) Take the first road on the right, which soon turns right then left.
(11) At the start of the next left-hand bend, leave the road and take a gently descending dirt track to the right. Cross a stream then head back up, turning north-north-west. Further on, take a sharp left-hand bend and continue due south. The path climbs gently through an oak wood to a fork at the “Bois des Pelleries” signpost.
(12) Take the path on the left and head back down. Turn left and cross a stream. The path climbs again and soon gives way to a tarmac road. Reach a T-junction in the hamlet of Antoulin.
(13) Turn right here. When the road bends to the right, leave the road and take theGR®®420on the left. The path curves widely to the left and heads north-northeast. At the end, you’ll reach the car park (S/E).
