Park after the Pré Râteau forest hut. Alternatively, you can continue to the trail junction, where there is a car park large enough for 4 to 5 cars.
(S/E) Otherwise, head to this crossroads.
(1) Take the path heading due east into the coniferous forest and follow it to the trail junction mentioned at elevation 1544.
(2) Be very careful as the path descends gently towards the bottom of the valley on the left. Follow this north-east facing path.
(3) Join theGR® 91, follow it to the left heading due north for about 200 metres, and you will come to a crossroads.
Leave theGR® 91 and turn right towards the Fontaine du Playe. Pass by the fountain, continue up the slope, cross a scree slope and join the Pas de Berrièves trail.
(4) Turn right and you will soon reach the pass.
(5) Just behind the Lorraine cross, leave the trail that descends to the Balcons Est trail. Take the steep grassy slope towards the ridges and the Rocher de Séguret (2051m). Once on the ridges, the view is breathtaking, both to the east towards the Alps and to the west towards the Vercors.
(6) Continue along the ridge heading south, taking great care as you walk along the eastern cliffs, which are very steep. Keep walking south and pass Roche Rousse.
(7) Continue in the same direction along the ridge until you reach Pas de La Posterle and then the summit of Pierre Blanche.
(8) Then reach Pas de la Ville via a very faint path.
(9) Turn right towards Jasse de la Chau in a westerly direction. Head towards the signpost.
(10) Turn right again onto theGR® 91 and follow it for about 300 metres until you reach another crossroads.
Turn left onto this path on your left, which is barely visible, and follow it west-northwest. Cross the oldGR® trail. The path becomes more and more visible. Pass in front of the ruins of the old Jasse de la Chau.
(11) The path winds through a forest of small conifers, then runs along the small limestone cliff of Roche Ceinturée to reach the initial crossroads.
(2) Head due west along the morning's path, which takes you back to the tarmac road and the car park (S/E).
