Depart from the car park below the cemetery of Saint-Romain-de-Lerps, along the D287 (Route de Saint-Sylvestre).
(S/E) Go up the D287 to the crossroads opposite the village bar-restaurant, turn left towards the Belvédère du Pic. Pass the town hall and then the cemetery. At the end of the cemetery, take the road on the left and then immediately right. Cross the playground and rejoin the road at a crossroads.
(1) Turn slightly left opposite to climb up to the Belvédère du Pic. Magnificent 360° view of the Alps to the Vercors, from Mézenc to Gerbier des Joncs via the Rhône valley and Pilat. With a bit of luck on a clear day, you can see Mont Blanc.
(2) To leave, go to the north-west corner of the site and take a small path heading north which enters a pine forest and leads to a much wider path (Chemin du Grand Bois).
(3) Continue right on this path, which is gravel at first and then tarmac. Pass the houses on your left and keep going in the same direction to reach the hamlet of Les Combes.
(4) At the crossroads, turn left and pass three or four houses. Turn left onto a path between a house and a garage, which slopes further to the left and enters a wood. Stay on the main path, ignoring any paths branching off to the right or left, until you reach a wider path. Turn right and follow this path until you reach a small tarmac road (Route de Plat).
(5) Cross the road and turn right towards the "Les Terres Grasses" hiking signpost. Take the path on your left (PR® white/yellow markings). Cross the Ruisseau du Doiron stream and continue uphill until you reach the hamlet of La Grangette, where you will find a tarmac road after the last house on the left. Follow this road for about 200 to 300 metres.
(6) Turn right onto a small path climbing at the foot of an embankment (still white/yellow markings) to the hamlet of Beauliac. Cross the hamlet and turn right onto the path between the embankment and the fence. After 150 metres, ignore the path going straight ahead and follow the one on the left along a meadow (white/yellow markings). Join the Route de Serre Long, continue south until you reach the "Serre Long" hiking signpost, where you will join the GR®420, marked in white and red.
(8) Follow it downhill, turning left, passing the hamlet of Simondon and reaching the Col de Gazareau.
(8) Take the Route de Plat on the left for about a hundred metres, then turn right onto the path going uphill, following the GR® markings. After a short flat section, the path descends to the car park (S/E).
