Mendaur rises to an altitude of 1,130 metres. It is an iconic peak with its chapel built in 1692 and restored in 1963. This is essentially a round trip hike following the ridge line to the south-east of the Navarrese village of Arantza and climbing the nearby Mendieder.

Anglet Accueille hike (guide Richard) The mountain range south of Zugarramurdi offers modest peaks in terms of altitude but with interesting panoramic views. Today's hike, which is new, invites you to make short ascents of five of them: Mendibil, Airagarri, Atxuria, Aizparaz and Arleun.

A circular loop alternating between a low, wild section at the bottom of the Aritzakun valley (abandoned village) and a high section on theOkoka, Akomendi and Goramakil ridges. The trail then returns to the starting point at the Itzulegi pass.

A panoramic route along the ridge line west of Alkurruntz, characterised by a succession of large bumps and plateaus (Atxuela, Larrondo and Iñaterri passes) up to the summit of Ezkitz. We will finish the route by climbing Alkurruntz and returning via the easiest route.

A superb circular route in the karst massif of the Sierra de Aralar to reach Ganboa (or Ganbo, 1,413 m), the highest point in the area. A few slightly technical sections; please read the description carefully. GPS or the Visorando app recommended.

Urdaburu, visible from miles away, is a landmark for the fishermen of Gipuzkoa who popularised its name (pronounced ‘urde-buru’, meaning ‘pig’s head’). With its characteristic steep cliff face, it has always served as a landmark for them. This route presents no difficulty apart from the final ascent, which requires a little care. For the descent, you need to retrace your steps slightly to avoid the steep and potentially vertiginous path on the eastern slope.

This relatively short circular route starts from the car park of the Susperregi restaurant, on the hills above Errenteria.

A lovely circular walk starting from the picturesque little village of Azpilkueta in the Baztan Valley. We’ll pass through the Atxuela Pass and follow the ridges to the summit of Ezkitz. Stunning views over the Baztan Valley and the surrounding peaks.

A circular walk along the western slope and then the ridges of Goramakil, offering magnificent views over the Baztan Valley and the Pyrenees. The path then joins the road leading back to the Itzulegi Pass. This walk presents no technical difficulties, and the path or tracks are well-marked and perfectly clear. However, it is best to avoid foggy days for safety reasons and because you’ll miss out on the superb views from the various vantage points offered by the peaks of this massif.

A circular route starting from the Col d’Orizkiko. We’ll take a route through the forest to the mill (Infernuko errota in Basque) and then return via the higher ground, following the GR®11. At the end of the walk, we’ll climb the hill of Gaineko Harrieta, where there is a small archaeological site (dolmen).
