On the heights of Montigny-lès-Vesoul
A pleasant little hike in the hills above Montigny-lès-Vesoul. The route alternates between dirt tracks, gravel paths and a few tarmac sections. The trail crosses fields and small woods, offering pretty views of the surrounding villages. It passes close to Poncey and Chemilly, making for a peaceful and accessible walk.
However, there is a slight inconvenience at the end of the route: the trail runs alongside a composting platform. Depending on the day, the wind and the temperature, unpleasant odours may disturb your walk for about 200 metres.

The lovely countryside of Velleclaire and Bucey-lès-Gy
The municipality of Velleclaire is divided into two parts by the D474 road: an upper section on the Route de Vantoux and a lower section on the other side, featuring a small wooded area.
It is this lower part that you will explore.
This small village of 105 inhabitants is home to a charming 19th-century chapel. The settlement consists mainly of farmhouses, some of which have beautiful cellar entrances and very interesting architectural features.

Bucey-lès-Gy circular route via the orientation table
Bucey-les-Gy is a “Petite Cité Comtoise de Caractère” nestled in the Morthe valley, within the triangle formed by the towns of Gray, Vesoul and Besançon.
Ancient and Merovingian graves attest to a very long-standing presence in Bucey-les-Gy. Until 1091, the village belonged to the Counts of Burgundy, before being ceded to the Archbishops of Besançon.
The hamlet of Saint-Maurice, which you will pass through on your walk, was largely destroyed in 1944 in retaliation for acts of resistance.

Circular Crésancey route via Noiron, Arsans and Champtonnay
An easy walk around the village of Crésancey, leading along the Tenise and then through valleys and woods, to discover the churches and wash houses of Noiron, Arsans and then Champtonnay, before returning to Crésancey through the fields.
The villages you pass through are surrounded by magnificent natural landscapes such as beech woods, green hills, farmland and winding rivers.
