The Côte to Pennesières Trail

Parking at Place de l’Église.

(S/E) From the Place de l’Église, take Rue de la Goula, then the tarmac road on the right for 100 m and continue to the cemetery.

(1) Turn left onto the stony track.

(2) At the fork in the road, turn right and walk alongside the wild boar enclosure. When you reach the tarmac path, turn right.

(3) As you come out of the small wood, turn left onto the dirt track (viewpoint) towards the village of Courboux. When you reach the village, follow the street to the right (Grande Rue).

(4) Turn right onto Rue de la Citadelle, then onto Rue de la Fontaine. Head down to the left to see the wash house and continue along Chemin de la Fontaine.

(5) At the junction, turn right towards the woods. After passing through the woods, follow the edge of the woods until you reach the village of Pennesières (S/E).

You can park directly at the Place de l’Église, the starting point.
Follow the green signposts along this route.

Places to visit:
- The circular cemetery at Pennesières. Situated at the very top of the village, it was built in 1822 by René Attiret. It is one of the few circular cemeteries in France.

Also worth seeing:
- The fountain and washhouse.
- The “La Font de Courboux” chasm.
- The museum of old stoves and antique tools.
