Sénac walks

A circular route through the countryside between two valleys starting from Peyrun and passing through the village of Sénac.

A pleasant, easy walk, mainly along country lanes. The walk starts in front of the former Abbey of Saint-Sever-de-Rustan.

A circular route that is divided equally between the plain and the ridge paths. A break is a must at the former Rustan Abbey in St Sever de Rustan. On a clear day, you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Pyrenees.

North of the Tarbes-Tournay road, you will discover this magnificent tourist spot in the Coussan area. Recent improvements have made it a favourite spot for the people of Tarbes. A short walking route starting from Lac de l’Arrêt Darré, which can be completed in under 3 hours even with plenty of stops. You’ll enjoy a splendid view of the Pyrenees mountain range. This route is suitable for Nordic walking; allow 2 hours including warm-ups and stretches. The lake’s surroundings are an idyllic spot for a picnic and a nap. Sports facilities and equipment for repairing your bikes (road bike 81) are available, as well as a treetop route. A charming little restaurant completes the welcome at this site.

A country route with sections through woodland. A pleasant and varied walk, both in terms of the paths and the landscapes.

This is a typical countryside walk for the whole family. Apart from the distance, which is a little long, it is not difficult. However, I recommend doing it on a clear day to fully enjoy the view of the Pyrenees.

This walk will take you to the four churches of Montaner, through forests and, from the plateaus, to vast panoramas with the castle tower as your anchor point.

This short walk above Tournay (65) will allow you to gain a bit of height and admire the Pyrenees.

Hike in the Bois du Commandeur in Ibos and Bordères-sur-l'Échez along the Souy river.The route is located between the D817 road from Pau and the D2 road from Bordères to Pintac, mainly using forest paths and trails. A lovely route through the hills above Tournay, passing the Castéra-Lanusse signposts, with a return via the bastide town of Tournay.

Short walk around Lake Puydarieux. Bird sanctuary with access to huts. Route almost entirely marked with yellow signs to be followed in an anti-clockwise direction. Sometimes the markings are difficult to see, damaged or missing. A few paths are difficult to see.

This easy hike south-east of Tarbes offers views of the Pic de Midi de Bigorre and Montaigu mountain ranges and takes you through typical Pyrenean villages. The hike follows sections of small roads with little traffic. The description and map are essential as there are many turn-offs.

The route starts at the top of the Ger hill in Ibos and takes you to the Menhir on the Ger plateau. After entering the woods, the route becomes shaded and you will walk up the Géline.
