The Trésoncle Balconies circular loop starting from Savigny
A beautiful, long hike in the hills above Savigny, alternating between orchards, mountain pastures and wild countryside, with walkers, mountain bikers and paragliders all sharing the terrain harmoniously. The first, uphill section follows mainly the ridge line separating La Turdine from Le Trésocle to the paragliders’ launch site, whilst the second section is relatively flat as far as Le Crêt d’Arjoux. The third section consists mainly of the descent back to Savigny.The route takes you up to higher ground, offering magnificent views over the entire Ain plain, the Beaujolais region and, in fine weather, the Alpine range.Furthermore, you’ll discover an area that offers plenty of hiking opportunities.At the start or finish, you can also take the opportunity to visit the beautiful village of Savigny with its yellow-stone church or its dovecote, located at the starting point of the hike.

Crêt d'Arjoux from Ancy
The region has prehistoric and ancient remains, particularly from the Gallo-Roman period. Two temples are said to have existed, one on the Arjoux mountain and the other, dedicated to Jupiter, near the Mas Saint-Jean.
Silver mines were worked nearby in the 15th century.

Circular Bully and Pierres Dorées starting from the Agamy Wine Cellar
Departure from the Agamy Cooperative Winery for a walk along the trails of five communes: Bully, Sarcey, Le Breuil, Chessy and Saint-Germain-sur-Arbresle. We are in the Pierres Dorées region of Beaujolais, with its hamlets such as Apinost and its wash house, the village with its school, castle, town hall and church. Continue to the hamlet of Montagny, the Crêt de Montgiron with its vineyards and, finally, the magnificent hamlet of Glay with its beautiful golden stones from the nearby quarries (which can be visited).

Tour de Mosouvre from Lentilly
This is a short hike to the Fouillet Chapel (Sourcieux-les-Mines) from the centre of Lentilly. Orientation table at the chapel, beautiful view in all directions in good weather. Exceptional panorama at an altitude of 500 m over the Monts du Lyonnais and Beaujolais, the Lyon metropolitan area and the Alps. You can enjoy this view for a long time from the heights of Mosouvre, where you can see the valley towards Arbresle.
The Three Passes Traverse (Monts du Lyonnais)
A classic and accessible route through the Monts du Lyonnais, mainly through woodland, with occasional views of the Lyon conurbation and the Alps in good weather. Views also extend to the Monts du Lyonnais and the Val de Saône.Also popular with mountain bikers, the route takes you over three passes, starting either from Fontrijole (where there is a small car park for the recommended start point) or from La Luère (better known to locals), via the Col de la Croix du Ban.

Circular Ponts Tarrets starting from Sarcey
Depart from Sarcey opposite the church, taking the Voie du Tacot to Ponts Tarrets, then head towards Le Breuil to return to Sarcey. A very pleasant and easy walk.

Visit the old golden stone quarry in Glay and immerse yourself in the vineyards.
Cols de la Luere, Maleval and Saint Bonnet le Froid
100% trail route
From (1) to (6), this route is completely unfrequented, so a GPS is recommended, although in this steep-sided valley there is a slight discrepancy with the actual route.
Due to fallen trees, this section of the park is complicated, and you will need GPS and common sense to make your way through.
Although this is not a mountain hike, do not attempt this route if you only hike on well-marked trails, as this is an area without any trails.

Circular starting from La Giraudière
This hike will allow you to discover some beautiful landscapes between the Monts du Lyonnais and the Monts de Tarare on either side of the Brévenne valley. Much of this hike takes place on the ridges, offering some very interesting views. Numerous signposts along the route will help you find your way.

Valency via the Col de La Croix du Ban
A short hike to soak up the gentle tranquillity of the Monts du Lyonnais, just 15 km as the crow flies from Place Bellecour (Lyon). This circuit is also very close to the neighbouring towns of Tassin, Craponne, Saint-Genis-les-Ollières and Charbonnières-les-Bains.
You will discover the calm of the forest with its remarkable trees, the tranquillity of small streams and breathtaking views of Lyon. As a bonus, depending on the conditions, you can enjoy views of the Alps and Mont Blanc.

The Mont Pancu tour
The western circular route around Brussieu will take you to the summit of Mont Pancu (600 m). You will discover the slope overlooking the Cosne valley, a charming little river that you will cross twice, and in the second part of the walk, the slope overlooking the Brévenne valley. The route is mainly on paths with some sections in the forest. This is a walk for families with children who are not too young and are good walkers.

Monts du Lyonnais. Circular from Courzieu to Yzeron via Crêt de la Madonne
Meadows, orchards and woods follow one another on the hillsides where, from late spring to early summer, raspberries, strawberries, cherry blossoms and other red fruits flourish. The contrasting plots of land create a very varied and pleasant landscape, including wooded areas of oak, chestnut and hornbeam coppices. Exceptional panoramic views of the Tarare mountains (particularly from the "Lafont" orientation table), Lyon and the Ain plain. Virtually no tarmac. Pure bliss!
White Strawberry Route in Courzieu
The Fraise Blanche route is a good introduction to the topography of Courzieu. You will reach the Col de la Croix de Pars from the hamlet of Sottizon and, after a pleasant stretch along the ridges, you will descend back to the village via the hamlet of Lafont.
Mara des Bois in Courzieu
This route will take you through the village of Courzieu, first to the western side of the village, before heading towards the Col de la Croix de Pars. You will then descend back to the village, enjoying a bird's eye view.
Chessy loop at the Glay quarries
This walk will take you from Chessy station to the old quarries of Glay. The route passes through the picturesque hamlet of Glay with its golden stone houses
Circular Larny via the Château du Haut Poirier
This circular hike is not very long, but it does have some relatively wild and fairly steep sections. Largely through woodland, often on metamorphic rock paths, this route will take you to the surprisingly peaceful summit of hill 566, just a stone's throw from the town.

Castles, vineyards and golden stones
A lovely loop with few hills, taking you through vineyards and forests.
You will discover the golden stone village of Glay and pass by Courbeville Castle.
You will also discover the village of Chessy with its castle and 12th-15th century church.
The Pierres Dorées and the Vineyards of Châtillon
The Pierres Dorées, characteristic of southern Beaujolais, are ochre-coloured limestone rocks that reflect light particularly well and give the buildings a golden appearance. This short walk consists of two complementary parts: firstly, a route through the village’s narrow streets, paths and stairways, culminating at the Chapel of Notre-Dame de Bon-Secours; and secondly, a walk through the vineyards to a lovely viewpoint.

A refreshing hike between Pollionnay, La Croix du Ban, Col de la Luère and the Château de Saint-Bonnet le Froid. Much of this route is through woodland.

A beautiful circular loop off the beaten track, in steep and wild valleys.

A hike featuring various sections through woodland, with unobstructed views of the Lyon metropolitan area, and some sections along a small tarmac road (with little traffic).

A lovely, easy route with a section in the woods, stream crossings and a passage near the Villefranche-Tarare aerodrome, which can be quite busy at weekends and therefore generate some noise. A pleasant view of the Beaujolais mountains and the golden stone villages.

A beautiful, easy walk with little elevation gain, on balcony paths or through the forest. On a clear day, the view of the Alps is magnificent.

Circular Vaugneray route via La Croix du Ban and Château du Poirier
This pleasant hike winds through the woods of the northern Monts du Lyonnais. From Vaugneray, the route climbs to La Maletière, then descends the Vallon du Mercier, rises through the woods to reach the Col de la Luère, where it winds pleasantly along the ridge line, passing through the Col de Croix du Ban and then the Col de Fontrijole before descending to Malatray. It reaches Château du Poirier, crosses the Vallon du Poirier, then the Vallon de Larny, which it climbs to reach a place called La Plaine. It descends to Valency, crosses the Ruisseau du Verdy, and after Pollionnay, the Ruisseau du Mercier. It passes through Grezieux-la Varenne, then descends into the Vallon de la Chaudanne before climbing back up to Vaugneray.
Circular from Vaugneray via Col de la Luère, Sain-Bel, La Croix du Ban
The route takes place in a green setting. It passes through small hamlets nestled in valley hollows, crosses mountain passes and goes through woods. The route starts in Vaugneray, passes through the Col de la Luère, descends to Saint-Pierre-la-Palud, a former pyrite mining town. At Sain-Bel, it climbs back up to Sourcieux-les-Mines to cross the Col de la Croix du Ban and return to Vaugneray.
The Monts du Lyonnais around Saint-Bonnet-le-Froid
A large circular route, very close to Lyon, through fields and forests and across the vast grounds of the Château de Saint-Bonnet. The Visorando app can be useful on certain sections that have been modified from the original route.

This hike alternates between forests, meadows and beautiful views of the Rhône valley and the Alps, mainly on paths and small roads. There are no technical difficulties, just a few steep slopes.
Loop starting from Charnay
Charnay, a village in the Pierres Dorées region, is located in the Beaujolais area, 20 km from Lyon and 12 km from Villefranche-sur-Saône.
