A pleasant hike in a natural setting crossed by the Rochette and Maine rivers. The landscapes are varied, with vineyards, woods such as those of Le Plantis and various crops, as well as orchards (apples and pears). Along the route, you can see beautiful farms in this pretty corner of the Saintonge countryside.
From Bois de la Tour to Château de la Tenaille
A pleasant hike west of Saint-Sigismond-de-Clermont, around the River Tort, through countryside with varied landscapes, consisting of diverse crops, vineyards and woods. Along the route, you will pass by the Château de la Tenaille and its chapel, which is the only remaining part of the Abbey of Tenaille.
The mills at Meux in the Champagne region
A path through the woods and then across fields leads to a vineyard-covered hill. Beautiful panoramic views open up on either side over the Seugne and Trèfle valleys (former windmill). From dirt tracks to country roads, passing through a pretty oak and chestnut wood, large estates dot the landscape as far as the outskirts of Le Trèfle (visit and tasting at the Domaine des Brissons), grassy paths run alongside meadows and streams and cross poplar groves to the finish.
West of the Seugne from Clion to Breuillet
A beautiful hike between Clion and Saint-Paul west of the Seugne in a picturesque corner of Saintonge. The route offers varied landscapes mixing various crops, vineyards and small woods. It is also an opportunity to walk along the Seugne, see one of the springs that feed it and built heritage such as the Saint-Paul Chapel.
From Pont des Ânes to the Chapel of Saint-Paul around Clion
A pleasant, flat walk in the countryside around Clion, allowing you to discover the green surroundings of the Pont aux Ânes, the Chapel of Saint-Paul and the Saint-Fort Fountain, and to enjoy beautiful views of the châteaux of Lussac and Clam.This route follows a very small section of theGRP®® de Saintonge.
Saint-Paul Chapel in Clion-sur-Seugne
Vineyards will accompany you throughout this walk, until you reach the hamlet of Saint-Paul. There, a small chapel stands surrounded by lush greenery. A path leads down to the banks of the Seugne, beautifully adorned with flowers. You will then continue through vineyards and fields along the railway line to reach Clion, where a stop is a must at the presbytery, which houses the Clion Craft and Rural Museum.
Tour of Saint-Maurice-de-Tavernole
A very beautiful hike to do in April or May to enjoy the orchids (more than ten varieties), but the environment is beautiful all year round with very beautiful, unobstructed views. Be careful when crossing the Roman bridge, the only difficulty but important if you are afraid of heights. It is possible to avoid it.
