Saint-François-de-Sales walks

The appeal of this outing is not so much the chalet itself, but the small hill nearby, which offers a panoramic view of the region's peaks. It is also an opportunity to enjoy a beautiful hike on the plateau.

A short family walk that leads to a beautiful view from the Croix des Bergers. No problem for children in good weather, of course. Allow 2½ hours for the round trip.

This is a family hike that can be enjoyed in any season between two resorts in the Massif des Bauges. With snow, a winter atmosphere is guaranteed, especially if you encounter dog sled teams. L'Orionde is not the best known or most popular spot on this circuit, but it offers panoramic views to the east and west. The most famous site is, of course, the Croix du Nivolet, which, for once, happens to be on the route. All in all, a beautiful loop with a succession of panoramic views.

A beautiful 360° summit in the Bauges mountains.

It is almost a suburban walk, not too busy during the week. And yet you are already in the Bauges with its characteristic buildings. From the start to the waterfall, you are on theGR®96. Then, from the pass to the ridge trail via Mont Peney, you are on the GRP®.

A pleasant and easy hike in the heart of the Bauges Natural Park, mainly through the woods, allowing you to discover the Mariet mountain pastures dotted with pretty chalets and a small lake... a touch of water in a sea of flower-filled meadows. GPS recommended!

This loop allows you to discover the north-eastern tip of the Plateau du Revard. The gentle, rolling terrain offers views of the Bauges mountains, Lake Bourget and, at the highest point, a more extensive view of the Alps and Mont Blanc. A short detour to the Autel du Curé will take you in the footsteps of the Revolutionary Terror in Savoie.

A snowshoe hike enhanced by a stop at the Creux de Lachat refuge. It's always an opportunity to meet someone, even if it's just the caretaker. Panoramic views of Les Bauges and, further away, Les Aravis and Mont Blanc.

This circuit takes you to Le Revard via the Chemin de la Crémaillère and back down via the Pas du Rebollion and the Col du Pertuiset. There are a few variations that add extra difficulty to this circuit. This circuit can be done in the opposite direction to the description.

A magnificent snowshoe hike offering 360° panoramic views of the Alps, the Épine massif, Chartreuse and Bugey throughout the route, particularly at the Croix du Nivolet... The Croix du Nivolet, the final destination, proudly overlooks Chambéry. The return journey follows the same route, but is always different given the magical landscape in good weather.

A long and beautiful hike full of possibilities on the plateau, with alternative routes to suit all tastes, but always staying on the trails, as the Margeriaz is very rugged. Access, via the same ascent route, can be gained via the Goulet de l'Agneau, which is equipped.

A loop with a variety of landscapes to discover the lakes of Lescheraines, the banks of the Chéran and the beautiful Pissieux waterfall. The route then climbs higher for beautiful views of the surrounding peaks.

A local classic with magnificent views of the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park, the Belledonne massif and the town of Chambéry.Ideal for hot days, the route is 90% shaded. However, it is not suitable for wet weather.

A country walk between Lac du Bourget and the foothills of Le Revard. Along the way, you will discover wash houses, a bread oven, a number of metal crosses perched on stone blocks, the slightly secluded Saint-Maurice Chapel, the old village of Clarafond, etc. And, weather permitting, more distant panoramic views. There are no specific markings, but there are a few mountain bike markers here and there.

A must-do hike for locals, this short trip to the Dent du Nivolet offers a beautiful 360° panorama of Lac du Bourget, Chartreuse, Belledonne, Beaufortain and Mont Blanc.

From the spectacular canyon at the Pont du Diable, this hike takes you to the sawmills, one of which has been restored by local heritage enthusiasts. The return route takes you through the pretty village of Bellecombe-en-Bauges

A medium-altitude mountain in the heart of Les Bauges, offering a beautiful ridge walk and, in good weather, views of the main peaks of the massif.

An easy hike in the heart of the Bauges, but you will need to take your hands out of your pockets at times on certain sections of the ridge. Panoramic view of the surrounding peaks: Trélod, Dent de Pleuven, Dent des Portes, Mont Colombier.

This is a pleasant route to walk at any time of year, particularly in late autumn as it enjoys plenty of sunshine. The route of the Himalayan footbridge at Trou de l'Enfer allows you to discover the curious meanders of the Leysse.

This circular hike runs along the slopes and ridge of La Galoppaz (pronounced Galoppe) to reach the summit with its magnificent 360° panorama.

The Saint-Jacques Towers are a group of three monoliths that have broken away from the cliff and continue to slide 2 to 3 cm per year. The suggested route allows you to see them from different angles, from above and below. Along the way, note the paved road and the massive log barns.

These two easy loops form a figure of 8, on low-traffic roads, tracks and paths through fields and woods. They offer beautiful views of the Clergeon, the Bauges mountains, the Semnoz and even Lake Bourget. They also pass through the villages of Saint-Ours and Chainaz-Les-Frasses, offering views of the Château de Fésigny.

A beautiful walk along the Leysse gorges and through the old vineyards of Saint-Jean-d'Arvey. The trail, while not particularly difficult, can be a little steep and slippery. It offers superb views of the Leysse and the cliffs of Mont Peney.

Right from the start, there is a steep climb from Cusy to reach the Chalet du Trousset. The route then mostly follows beautiful trails and paths through the woods, offering lovely views in places. The Visorando app is highly recommended.

A walk to revisit the classics near Chambéry.

A classic destination in the Bauges Regional Nature Park, the Pointe de la Galoppaz offers a sweeping panorama of the Bauges and all the mountain ranges of the Northern Alps. This spot is very popular with gliders, paragliders and birds of prey.

The Mont Saint-Michel Chapel, which is clearly visible from the Chambéry basin, is often the destination for a Sunday afternoon walk starting from Montmerlet above Curienne. There is only a hundred metres or so of elevation gain. The trail is very well marked.
