The starting point is in the car park south of the cross-country ski centre.
(S/E) Take the small road that starts opposite the car park exit towards Côte Raget. After 100 metres, turn left and continue for 150 metres to reach the entrance to the asphalt roller ski track. Continue along this track, staying on the gravel sections so as not to annoy any grumpy skaters.
After about 500 metres, turn left, still on the asphalt track.
(1) First tricky bit after 100 metres: leave the asphalt track and find the small path that starts on the right. Follow this path for 500 metres until you find a track at a place called "Le Creux Froid". Turn left for 30 metres and find a path that branches off to the right.
(2) Follow this path for 500 metres until you come to another track coming from Les Quatre Chemins. Take this track on the right for 400 metres until you reach a crossroads at a place called "Teppe de Larcoutier".
(3) The path marked on the "GR® de Pays Tour des Bauges" map starts opposite but is no longer very well marked on the map. Purists will need to use a compass to cover the next 250 metres and join a slightly more marked trail. Otherwise, it is preferable to turn right and head for the shelter chalet visible from the crossroads.
(4) From this chalet, leave the track on the left and walk along the forest for 100 metres to find a trail that branches off to the left and joins theGRP® 50 metres further on. Continue along this trail for 100 metres until you cross a track at a service chalet for cross-country skiing. Continue along the path that starts right next to it and climb for 500 metres to reach a place called "Les Fermes". From here, you can see the road and a small car park, where we will return later. In the meantime, it is best to continue along theGRP® to enjoy the view of Lake Bourget a little further up.
Leaving Les Fermes on your left, continue along the path towards the first marker. The path then becomes less clearly marked, but you will see a second marker a little higher up, which you can see from where you are.
(5) Turn left towards the farms and when you reach them, go back down to the road.
Cross the road and there are two options: take the path on the hillside to the left (avoid in wet weather) or, to enjoy the view of the lake, walk along the road on the concrete verge on the road side if there is no traffic, or on the quieter grass side. You will reach the car park mentioned above after 300 metres.
(6) From here, do not continue on the path marked on the IGN map, as it is no longer passable. There are several possible routes.
The one described here follows the clearly visible path from the car park, which heads south into the meadow and climbs for about 200 metres before descending into the mountain pasture, where you will need a map and compass to find your way from clearing to clearing (again, the road is never very far away, so there is no risk of getting lost).
(7) After 600 metres through the grassy area, the path enters the forest and descends for 200 metres before joining the more marked trail that comes from the Col du Pertuiset. Descend to the left for 50 metres, then take a path that branches off to the right and climbs slightly into the woods, running more or less parallel to a fence, and joins a track that leads to the "Parc Aventure". From here, there are many tracks that make the route a little confusing, so you need to be careful to follow the route. Turn right towards the park, then immediately climb left onto a path for 150 metres.
(8) Turn onto the path that branches off to the left. After a few twists and turns, it leads to the top of the technical services building. Continue for another 300 metres to reach the D913 road. Cross the road to reach the ski centre and the car park (S/E).
