Park in the forest car park at the top of La Féclaz resort.
(D/a) Cross the Route du Revard and join the trailhead at the edge of the forest.
(1) Take the trail on the right, which will quickly reach the resort's ski service buildings. Continue along the trail that passes above
.
(2) At the next intersection, a sign indicates the direction of L'Orionde; follow it.
First there is a gentle climb through the forest, which becomes steeper after crossing the downhill ski run. The climb continues through the forest.
The trail leaves the forest near the arrival point of the Orionde chairlift. Panoramic view of Les Bauges and Mont Blanc
(3) Pass the facilities and head towards the first aid shelter. A sign indicates the Belvédère de l'Orionde is 5 minutes away; head there.
After a descent followed by a short climb, you arrive at the edge of the cliff overlooking the valley. The viewpoint and orientation table are 50 m to the right: there is a beautiful view of the Chartreuse and the Southern Jura.
(4) Go back and descend in a north-south direction along paths and trails that run roughly parallel to the edge of the cliff.
This will take you to the Sire car park.
(5) Cross the road and set off again, as suggested, going around the ski slopes on the right, passing close to the bar-restaurant and the tepees.
Climb the slope, still heading south and not far from the edge of the cliff. The path gradually turns south-east and soon overlooks the ski area; pass point 1502 m, then point 1521 m "Panneau les Chalets du Sire" (Les Chalets du Sire sign) and enjoy the view again.
(6) Head towards "Croix du Nivolet", which is another north-south path near the edge of the cliff.
Allow a good half hour to reach the cross. Another panoramic view.
Along the way, look for the sign for "Mont du Nivolet 1513 m" and the trail that heads east.
(7) Head towards the cross.
(8) Return to the crossroads with the signpost "Mont du Nivolet 1513 m" that you saw on the way up.
(7) Leave the route you took on the way up and, after a long descent through the forest, the trail emerges onto the meadows of the southern plateau of La Féclaz resort.
(9) Turn left at the edge of the forest onto a wide path that leads to the chalets of the Nordic village (multicoloured balconies).
Follow the path, go around the chalets upstream and you will arrive at the edge of the ski area. Descend to the right along the toboggan run towards the large Aurore chalet.
(10) From the bottom of the slopes, head towards and cross the central part of the resort, passing close to the ski lift ticket office to reach the car park (DA).
