The Col de l'Aup at the start of the Hauts Gicons
Easy hike up to the Col de l'Aup via the Queyras ravine, below the Montagne de Faraut.
Gicon
This short hike takes you quickly to one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Dévoluy, offering views of the entire syncline and the peaks of Vercors Nord, Chartreuse, Taillefer and Oisans.
The view towards the turquoise Sautet Lake is spectacular and, with a bit of luck, a sea of clouds will add a romantic touch to the landscape.
Grouse and chamois abound on the slopes of the Gicon and can be seen if you are discreet enough.
The Drouillet Pass
Starting from the hamlets above St Disdier en Dévoluy, several large parallel valleys climb up towards the ridge connecting Grand Ferrand to Obiou.
This hike takes you up to the Col du Douillet, just below the Petit Ferrand, via the Truchière valley, and back via the Narittes valley.
As always in Dévoluy, the landscape is rocky, but the Truchière valley is quite grassy, while the Narittes valley is much more austere.
Col des Faïsses - Loop via the Tête de la Garde
This route takes you through forest and undergrowth for a long time, protecting you from the heat and any wind, and leads you to the foot of the Obiou. The 1,500 metres before the pass are on a wide track, exposed to the sun.The path is obvious, marked in yellow at the start, then in yellow and red (GRP®). The markings help you avoid taking the wrong path or trail, of which there are many on this route.Cows and vultures await you at the pass. The small additional loop offers a panoramic view of the turquoise waters of Lac du Sautet and the Trièves region, with Lac de Monteynard. (However, you can limit yourself to a return trip to the pass, which is 300 metres less in altitude). Take the opportunity to admire the Défilé de la Souloise and the Paroi des Voutes. In the distance, the Pic de Bure shows off its characteristic silhouette.
La Grésière loop via the Combe de Mayt
An easy loop starting from a village in Dévoluy, Le Courtil. This loop can be done in the other direction (which I prefer...), offering a beautiful view of the Pic de Bure.
Grand Ferrand via the sinkholes, return via La Vire Olympique
A superb route allowing you to discover the Canyon and the Arche des Adroits and climb up to the Grand Ferrand via two tunnels (sinkholes) and a very beautiful rocky ridge. The return journey allows you to visit the Chourum and the Vire Olympique as well as numerous karstic caves.
This little-used route is challenging and requires sure footing on scree and very steep grassy steps. It is almost entirely off-trail.
Around the Haute Gillarde springs
A pleasant walk, accessible to all, where you can take your children along, under supervision of course. The trickier sections are protected. The Pic de Bure circular from the Superdévoluy station
This is a long circular loop that takes you along the two possible hiking routes on this side of the mountain. The difficulty is mainly due to the length. The elevation gain is also significant and some passages require great care (cables).
Col la Saume
A hike accessible to all, from 7 to 77 years old! Without difficulty, it offers a breathtaking panorama of the Champsaur valley and its bocage. The Devoluard fauna can be abundant, for the enjoyment of young and old alike!
The pass road is closed during winter (check for information).
Col des Aiguilles - Return circular via Le Chauvet
Most of the route follows theGRP® Tour du Dévoluy trail markedGR®94.
For the return journey, rather than going back the same way, you can vary the route by returning via Small Pass and Le Charvet. This is an off-trail route.
This alternative route must be taken in good visibility and requires the ability to use a map and compass, which is essential for off-trail hiking.
The view from Le Chauvet over Le Dévoluy is magnificent.
Saute Aure Waterfall
A hike accessible to young and old alike, which leads to the foot of a beautiful waterfall... It is not uncommon to encounter marmots and sheep (accompanied by their shepherd and dogs). It is at its most beautiful in autumn or after heavy rain. It is possible to turn around and go the other way!
Col de Rabou circular
A beautiful hike that first winds through the Bois Rond before climbing up into the mountain pastures. Be warned, in good weather there will not be much shade. You will climb up to the source of the Souloise.
Please respect the peace and quiet of the herds and shepherds.

An 8-shaped loop that will take you through the Bois Rond before exploring two valleys and approaching the Pic de Bure rock face. You will have completed the Crête d'Âne loop.

This cave is located at the foot of the majestic west face of the Petit and Grand Ferrand (700 m vertical drop).
With a view of the Triève and Vercors in the background.
See § Practical information.
Crête de la Plane
The ascent of the Crête de la Plane offers superb views of the Pic de Bure and the whole of Dévoluy.
The first part of the hike, up to the Col de Rabou, follows theGRP® du Tour du Dévoluy, which is very well marked.
After Col de Rabou, the route is no longer marked and is off-trail. There are no particular difficulties as you follow the ridge. However, good visibility and the ability to navigate with a map and compass are required.

Beautiful wild hike in the Jarjatte valley to Lac de Lauzon and the Col de Charnier for views to the south. Return via the Col des Aurias.
The Lac du Lauzon
A magnificent walk, although the slopes are sometimes quite steep on both the ascent and descent. The landscapes and flora are remarkable.
Têtes de Vallon Pierra and Lauzon via Lac du Lauzon
Starting from the legendary Jarjatte valley, this hike takes you to the rocky landscape of the Tête du Vallon Pierra via the Tête and Lac du Lauzon, nestled in its green setting, which is undergoing eutrophication. The landscapes criss-crossed by chamois and griffon vultures and the views are breathtaking.
A small part of the route is off-trail, but on obvious terrain, and the only real difficulty is the elevation gain of over 1,000 metres.
Dominique Villars discovery trail
Following in the footsteps of botanist Dominique Villars, this trail, marked with information panels, allows you to discover the incredible diversity of the Champsaur vegetation.
Col de Corps via Chazal, starting from La Cluse
A route at the foot of Devoluy, which climbs up the Torrent de l'Abbéou, then joins the mountain pastures on the sunny side of Montagne de Lèche. The aim is to reach the Col de Corps, at the foot of Tête de Garnesier.
This route is classified as difficult becausesome of the paths through the meadows are not easy to follow after the Fontaine des Ruisseaux, and then as you approach the pass, some sections of unstable terrain are quite steep.
The ammonite slab at Rochers de la Baume, starting from La Cluse
A hike in the wild Abéou valley, at the gateway to the Dévoluy, dominated by the Tête and Roc de Garnesier peaks and the long ridge that runs from Haut Bouffet to Chauvet. The fun climb up the Torrent des Plates leads to the Rochers de la Baume, where you can discover a slab of ammonites. The descent is via the pastoral path, partly through the forest. A short detour allows you to make a round trip in the pleasant Leyvay canyon, which features several pools, ledges and waterfalls.
