Sabran walks

Discover the ruins of the Château Saint-Agathe in Sabran and the beautifully restored Château de Boussargues.

Loop around the village of Saint-Gervais in the Gard. A short, easy and varied walk, fragrant in spring with thyme, heather and rosemary lining the paths. The route passes through vineyards, olive groves and national forest.

Hike from the village of Saint-Michel-d'Euzet that takes you on a loop around the village of La Roque-sur-Cèze (ranked among the most beautiful villages in France). The village of La Roque is perched on a rocky outcrop and is bordered by the Cèze. The area is a natural site for swimming; near the village are the Cascades de Sautadet falls.

A beautiful route that will take you to the remarkable Sautadet waterfalls and La Roque-sur-Cèze, listed as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France", where you can follow a heritage trail. Please follow the safety instructions at the Cascades du Sautadet natural site! Swimming is prohibited

Easy loop from the hamlet of La Bastide d'Orniols in the commune of Goudargues in the Gard. Heath, pine forest, chapels, drystone shelters, stone houses. It is possible to start in the village of Goudargues, see Practical Information below.

A family walk around the Oppidum of Caesar Camp in Laudun.

A very beautiful, mostly flat trail through holm oak trees, alternating between shaded passages and panoramic views of the surrounding plains and hills. A visit to Caesar's Camp will add a touch of history to the end of the trail.

Route on the Plateau de Lacau and in the two valleys that surround it: the Combe d'Enfer, very wild and mysterious, and the Combe Roubaud, less steep but just as lush.

Short loop on the northern trails of La Chartreuse de Valbonne and return via part of the botanical trail.

Starting from Chusclan, this is a hike over different types of terrain (tarmacked paths between vineyards, DFCI trails, single-track paths, etc.). Viewpoints over the Rhone Valley and Mont Ventoux. Visit to the medieval site of Gicon.

Passing through garrigue, the shade of holm oaks and vineyards, this hike will allow you to discover an old restored windmill, Gallo-Roman ruins and an XIth century Romanesque chapel with, from time to time, a breathtaking 360° panorama... Set off to explore the Concluses Canyon, carved into the limestone by the Aiguillon. A complete change of scenery in a wild and unspoilt setting, this hike is best enjoyed in summer when the Aiguillon is almost dry, but expect to get your feet wet. The hike takes place in the rugged riverbed, so you will have to climb frequently, accompanied by the sound of cicadas.

There is a lot to see in Lussan. Start with the clear waters of the narrows at the Portail des Concluses and carry on to the Pierre Plantée standing stone. You will be delighted by a breathtaking view of the Cévennes and will cross the scrubland on varied terrain to the Table des Turcs dolmen. Eventually you arrive at La Lèque, which is an ideal spot for a lunchbreak. The last few kilometres are on wide lanes, leading back to the first section of the route.

Set off to explore the small villages of the Uzège, the sandstone and quartzite formations classified by André Malraux, the remains of Copper Age huts and a beautiful, well-restored Romanesque chapel.

This is a fairly shaded hike, with one section offering a lovely view. The quarries are a fun and peaceful place for a picnic. The distance is not a problem as there is little elevation gain, making this a hike that is accessible to many, with the added bonus of a visit to Saint Quentin and its pottery workshops on the way back!

The first part of the hike is through the woods, followed by a ridge trail offering superb views of the Rhône valley. At the end of the trail, you will arrive above the fortress.

A very beautiful hike allowing you to discover a karstic cave, dolmens, rock shelters and magnificent arches. Update on 20 February 2025. Following Jacba's comments on 19 February, for which I am very grateful, I would like to make an update that will make this hike less difficult and more enjoyable. At (10), take the path on the left, which is clearly marked in yellow. This good path joins the one that leads to (13). Take it on the right to make a round trip to the Arches du Morgue. Retrace your steps and continue on the initial trail of this hike, passing through (14) and (15).

A circuit around Uzès, discovering the Eure valley and its source that once fed the city of Nimes, then a loop through Gardoise scrubland to return to Uzès.
