Set amongst vineyards and woodland around the Chartreuse de Valbonne

Access: From Pont-Saint-Esprit, follow the signs for “Chartreuse de Valbonne” via the D23 then the D23Bis, for approximately 11 km. Park in the large car park on your right before the main entrance to the monastery.
From Bagnols-sur-Cèze, follow the signs for “Chartreuse de Valbonne” via the D23 then the D23Bis, for about 16 km. Park in the large car park on your left after the main entrance to the monastery.

(S/E) From the car park, take the tarmac road towards the Chartreuse de Valbonne and pass the monastery entrance. Follow the road uphill, then leave a dirt track leading to the vineyards and a farm shed on your right; continue until you reach the bend in the road.

(1) Take the DFCI forest track on the right. The track climbs gently and comes out onto a clearing in the woods (green DFCI water tank on the left). Enjoy the view of the monastery and its vineyard. Continue along the track to the^GR® junction at the hamlet of Croix de Sablet.

(2) Take the^GR®-marked track branching off to the right. Pass the first^PR® path on the left and stay on the main track until you reach a second^GR®-marked path on the left.

(3) Take this path, pass a small track branching off to the left (ONF boundary and private land) and continue following the^GR® markings until you reach the next three-way junction.

(4) Leave the path continuing to the left and ignore the one branching off to the right; follow the^GR® as it continues along a path more or less opposite, beneath the trees. Begin a descent which continues until you emerge from the woodland into vineyards and reach a tarmac road marked with the^{GR® symbol.}

(5) Follow this road, cross a small stream (often dry) via a footbridge and arrive at a road junction after La Broze.

(6) Follow the tarmac road marked^GR® to the right until it becomes a track.
Unobstructed views of the vineyard landscapes typical of the Côtes du Rhône region.

(7) Pass a track leading to the vineyards on your left. Continue straight ahead on the^{GR® path}, which runs alongside the vineyards, climbing gently through the forest to a Y-junction.
Enjoy one last view of the vineyards on the hillsides.

(8) Continue left along the track, which keeps climbing through the woods. Carry on along the^GR®, ignoring the paths and tracks branching off to the right and left, to stay on the main path and reach a junction with a track.

(9) Ignore the^GR® branching off to the right, signposted for the botanical trail, and continue straight on along the^GR® towards the Chartreuse de Valbonne until you reach the D901.

(10) Follow the tarmac road under the plane trees on the right and pass the entrance to the Chapelle Saint-Jean. Continue along the road to return to the car park at the Chartreuse de Valbonne (S/E).
