Departure from the car park in the centre of the hamlet of Le Colombier, near the magnificent wash house and church, accessible via the D274.
(S/E) Head west towards Sabran. As you leave the village, before the cemetery, turn right until you reach a car scrapyard.
(1) Turn right onto the grassy path. It initially runs alongside a fence where two donkeys may come to say hello.
(2) At the "Rochemont" sign, turn left towards Sabran. The small uphill path leads to a wide track. Take it on the left, pass close to the buildings of the Domaine Viticole de Graillefiot, then wind through the woods to reach the bottom of the village of Sabran, near the cemetery.
(3) A small staircase in front of you will take you up to the bridge. Cross the bridge to the right and a few dozen metres further on, turn left into Rue Saint-Elzéar until you reach Rue de l'Église.
(4) Go up to the right to the Sainte-Agathe Church and then to the ruins of the Château de Sabran.
(5) The unstable walls of these ruins are protected by barriers. Do not venture beyond these barriers to avoid damaging the ruins and, above all, to avoid falling rocks. Return to Rue de l'Église at the crossroads with Rue Saint-Elzéar.
(4) Turn right and descend to the left to reach the cemetery, passing under the bridge you encountered earlier.
(3) Continue straight ahead, keeping the cemetery on your left, until you reach the D166. Continue to the first crossroads after the Sabran exit sign.
(6) Leave the D166 by taking a path on the left along the vineyards. After a right-hand bend, it will take you back to the departmental road.
(7) Turn left, along the vineyard, continuing straight ahead south-east.
(8) Turn left again downhill to cross the Bois de la Balouillère.
If you are in a hurry, you can continue straight ahead to reach the hamlet of Cadignac directly.
(9) Cross the small hamlet and stay on the D274 for about 500 metres towards the east until you see the sign for Castillon.
(10) Turn right, then keep right downhill to join a wide path (elevation 143).
(11) Turn left and follow the signs to the access road to the Domaine de Boussagues.
(12) Turn right to enjoy this magnificent estate (see "During the hike or nearby").
(13) Château de Boussagues. Retrace your steps.
(12) Turning right, you will have just over 1.5 km to go to reach the hamlet of Colombier and the wash house car park (S/E).
