The car park at St Michel d'Euzet school is off-limits (sign in place) to hikers during school hours.
There is a car park 100 m away, right at the entrance to the village. (Avenue François Mitterrand - D 303).
(S/E) From the car park on Avenue François Mitterrand – D 303, head towards the centre of the village. Take Rue du Lavoir on the left and head towards Place Jean Jaurès. Continue straight on, past the church. Pass Rue des Tuchins and turn right onto Rue de l’Apparan. At the next junction, take Chemin de la Roque sur Cèze on the left, leading to the D980.
(1) Take extreme care when crossing the road. Head straight ahead and follow the vineyards until you reach the D166. Follow it straight on and you will come to the Charles Martel Bridge, a listed historic monument.
(2) Cross the bridge and you will reach a fork in the road.
(3) Turn left to make a return trip to the Sautadet Waterfalls (right bank of the Cèze).
(4) Please follow the safety instructions posted at the entrance to the Sautadet Waterfalls site! Swimming is prohibited. Enjoy this spectacular spot whilst taking care not to slip. Return to the Charles Martel Bridge.
(3) Follow the D166 road which climbs to the left towards the village of La Roque-sur-Cèze. At the junction, by the war memorial, leave the D166 and take the small road on the right leading to the foot of the church.
(5) Turn left onto Grand Rue and explore the village’s history via the information panels provided. Pass the town hall and take the first right, then a second right; at the junction with Rue de l’Arceau, turn left onto Rue de la Magnanerie. At the next junction, turn left towards the castle esplanade.
At the foot of the castle, there is an orientation table offering a panoramic view of Mont Ventoux (weather permitting).
(6) Return to the junction with Rue de l'Arceau and follow it to the left before returning to the foot of the church.
(5) Return to the entrance of the Charles Martel Bridge and cross it in the opposite direction to your outward journey.
(2) Take the yellow-marked route on the right leading to the Sautadet Waterfalls (left bank of the Cèze).
(7) Keep following the yellow markings back to Saint-Michel-d'Euzet, ignoring any side paths. At the edge of a private property, take the track on the left to stay on the marked route. Further on, cross vineyards and lavender fields before reaching the D980 road.
(8) Take extreme care when crossing the road. Head straight on along Chemin de Bagnols and take the track on the left at the next junction. Pass the cemetery and continue straight ahead on the marked route. At the next junction, turn left onto Chemin de la Font and rejoin Chemin de Bagnols. Return to the car park near the school on the left (S/E).
