Essegney lake
A short, flat walk in the shade by the water, relatively easy to navigate (suitable for a "cross" pushchair)... around a lake.
The Portieux Glassworks and the Glassmakers’ Trail
Starting from the annexe of the Marie de la Verrerie in Portieux, take a detour through the forest, discover a remarkable tree and return via the old glassmakers’ railway line.
Amidst vineyards and church spires, starting from Charmes
A scenic trail offering magnificent views of the Moselle Valley, the blue ridge of the Vosges, the Hill of Sion and the Saintois region. There are also many cultural and natural attractions to discover: churches, wash houses, fountains, the Canal de l’Est, ponds and the Moselle.
Frizon Springs Trail
A stroll through the heart of Frizon. You will find information boards dedicated to the village’s heritage, spread across the three walking routes starting from the church car park. The Blue Circular Route allows you to explore the forest, as well as its flora and fauna. It takes you to the Fontaine Valère, where you can learn more about its history and taste its iron-rich mineral water.
Barban Trail
A stroll through the heart of Frizon. You will find information boards about the heritage of the village of Frizon, spread across the three walking routes starting from the car park by the church.
The circular loop is the most family-friendly and the shortest. Suitable for pushchairs with good wheels: it is recommended that there be at least two people.
Valère Fountain Circular in Frizon
This is an easy walk that follows the blue chestnut leaf markings and takes you to the Fontaine Valère fountain.
Virine route
A varied hike through woods, meadows and valleys.
Please note: the section of the route from point (10) is currently impassable due to fallen trees along the stream. To return to the starting point, head towards Circourt by following the road (D39) to the right, then turn left into Rue de la Chapelle, which passes in front of the church, and continue straight on along the road that extends from it to join the D39a. Cross it to find the path you took at the start and follow it to the left to return to the car park.
Route de Circourt
A pleasant little walk through woods, fields and paths, with some gentle hills. Starting from Virine, you’ll head down to Circourt, walk around the village and climb back up through the woods to return to Virine, passing a 360° viewpoint! Ideal in summer with plenty of shaded areas, though there are a few fairly steep slopes.
The wild Moselle from Mangonville
This is a pleasant walk offering beautiful views of the Moselle and allowing you to discover the ruins of the medieval castle of Bainville-aux-Miroirs, as well as an old nail factory and its large wheel, an industrial relic in a rural setting. In the second part of the route, a path through a nature reserve allows you to get close to the wild Moselle and its surroundings before following the Canal de l'Est (southern branch) along the shaded towpath.
Circular route around Domèvre-sur-Avière
An easy walk following the Club Vosgien’s ‘Green Ring’ signposts. The route takes you through deciduous woodland (oak, beech, birch), fields and meadows.
Route of hot springs in Xirocourt
This route takes us to the large Arpontois Oak via a pretty path in the Bois d'Arpontois, climbs above the Blanches Côtes to take us to Bralleville via the plateau with magnificent views of the Vau farm and the Saintois. From Bralleville to Xirocourt, the return journey is via a path between fields and the river.
The Croix de Virine circular walk starting from Lamerey
The walk is signposted along almost its entire route, passing by the Croix de Virine and offering a 360° panoramic view.
Morning walk in Remenoville
Short walk with no particular technical difficulty, more suited to brisk walking.
