Start from Place de l’Église in Domèvre-sur-Avière (parking available).
(S/E) Take Rue de la Voye de Chavelot, the small street that climbs to the right of the cross depicting a bishop, possibly Saint Nicholas.
(1) At the end of the street, carry on straight ahead and enter the woods. Walk to the Tranchée de Souche (elevation 367).
(2) Turn left and carry on until you reach a road.
(3) When you reach the road, take the small path opposite, continuing to follow the ‘Green Ring’ markings. The path makes a first 90° turn to the right, then a second turn to the left.
(4) Turn left to leave the forest and continue through fields and meadows to the hamlet of Perrey.
(5) Turn right and walk carefully alongside the D41, then take the path on your left. Cross the Avière via the ford if the water is low; otherwise, walk alongside the fence (barbed wire) to reach a small bridge.
Carry on straight ahead, ignoring a first path on the left and then a second on the right, at the edge of the forest, following the Green Ring signposts.
(6) At the end of the path, turn left and carry on straight on until you reach Domèvre-sur-Avière via Rue des Rappes.
(7) Turn left into Rue de l’Avière, cross the river, then turn left to reach Place de l’Église (S/E).
