Valère Fountain Circular in Frizon

Park in the church car park.

(S/E) Head towards Bouxières-aux-Bois, cross the town hall square diagonally, then turn left onto Rue du Haut du Butté. Once you reach the road, follow it to the left until you reach the crossroads marked by a cross.

(1) Turn left onto Chemin de la Bolaye and you will arrive at the edge of the woods.

at thethree-way junction shortly after entering the woods, take the path on the right, pass the hunting cabin and continue straight on until you reach a forest road.
(3) Turn right and follow Tranchée de Gruilot, a beautiful forest road. Once you reach the municipal road, turn left for about 100 metres, then enter the woods on the right and walk for about 250 metres.

(4) Turn left, then right 100 metres further on. At the crossroads about 700 metres further on, turn right and follow the sign for "Fontaine Valère". You will arrive at the fountain, where you can taste the iron-rich water.

(5) Walk up the forest road on the right for about 700 metres. Turn left onto the path, then veer left after 200 metres.

(6) Turn right, then left at a right angle 200 metres further on. Continue until you reach the Green Circular.

(7) Make a short first turn left then right turn, leave the woods and head towards the village on the right. Continue along the road.

(8) After the cemetery and at the entrance to the village, turn left across the playground, join Rue de l'Étang and go down it on the left. Keep left at the junction with Rue du Poinsot and continue to the last house on the left.

(9) Turn right after the house onto Sentier des Renards, then follow Rue Cécile Delus to the fountain.

(10) Turn right onto Allée des Marronniers, then leave it for a path on the left which serves as a shortcut and leads to Rue de l'École, not far from the church. This will take you to the car park (S/E).
