Car park at the start of the Route de Seranville.
(S/E) Start this walk by following the Route de Seranville for 400 metres, before turning left onto a black gravel track marked with a ‘Red Disc’. This track is rutted by water channels. At the junction, turn left.
(1) Follow this track, which leads into the Remenoville Community Forest. Continue along this forest road, which turns into a forest track 800 metres further on, before rejoining the Route de Seranville.
(2) Turn left, cross the Ruisseau du Trou d’Avedeuy and continue for about 400 metres.
(3) Turn onto the grassy path on the left.
(4) Walk a few steps further to take a hunting track (grass track) on your right. When you reach a field, go round it on the right to join a path that runs alongside a small pond. Continue along this path to rejoin the Route de Seranville on the left. Follow it for about 300 metres.
(5) Take the gravel track on the right opposite the farm. This crosses the fields to join a path marked with a Red Disc, which leads onto a tarmac road.
(6) When you reach the road, turn right towards Giriviller and head for the Notre-Dame Chapel.
(7) Cross the D147 to head down into the village of Giriviller. Walk through the village along Rue des Trois Fontaines to rejoin the D147 further up. At the junction, turn left and walk down alongside the D147 for about 400 metres.
(8) Take the path on the right, marked with a Red Disc, towards Remenoville. The path descends slightly. After a few hundred metres, take the gravel path on your right.
(9) At the end, head back up the Route de Seranville on the right until you reach the signpost reading ‘Le haut du Mont Altitude 337m Banc de repos’.
(10) Turn left onto this path, which will take you across a field; then, just past the few mirabelle plum trees on your left, you’ll see a small gap in the bushes (be careful – it’s slippery in wet weather) leading back to the black gravel path from the start of the walk.
Turn left to head back down this path and return to your starting point (S/E).
