The basalt columns of Puy de Chavanne and the Ligeay waterfalls
Starting from the village of Palogneux, this route takes you past the basalt columns of the Puy de Chavanne, before continuing on to the Ligeay waterfalls. The route then follows a circular route along theGR®89to the village of Les Places, before returning to the village via the Goutte Crémière and the Épeurios.

Route des Loges on the Hautes Chaumes
The lodges or shepherd's huts, located on the Hautes Chaumes, were summer pasture buildings from May to October.
To get to the start of the hike, after passing the hamlet of Nermond, 200 m away, in a straight line, at the crossroads of this road with the Route de la Combe on the right, turn more to the right and take a stony path, heading for the calvary. Park at the bottom or in the cornfields on the left-hand side of the uphill path.
Tour of Chalmazel via Roc de l'Olme
From the top of Roc de l'Olme, a rock climbing spot, you can admire the view overlooking Chalmazel and the Lignon valley.
The sound of streams will accompany your steps.
4-pass circular starting from Chalmazel-Jeansagnières
An ideal hike to do in the morning to enjoy the coolness of the undergrowth, sheltered from the rising sun.
You will overlook the Chalmazelloise valley, the Haut Lignon valley and, in the distance, the summit of Pierre sur Haute.
Your attention will be drawn to the numerous blueberry fields.
Circular Col de la Loge starting from Chalmazel

Chorsin waterfall and tall grass
A magnificent and fairly easy circuit. Shaded in its first section, it allows you to discover the beautiful Chorsin waterfall and then reaches the plateau of tall grasses before quickly returning to its starting point. The circuit is well signposted with information panels.

This can be done in winter with snowshoes and even cross-country skis.

Le Vieil Écotay
After passing through the hamlet of Celle, a pleasant hillside path descends to the Charavan river, then climbs back up to Quérézieux, surrounded by deciduous trees. The descent offers a splendid view of Bard, then of Vieil-Écotay nestled at the bottom of the valley, with its beautiful stone houses, castle, church, wash house, and two rivers that meet under a magnificent little stone bridge.
Le Bout du Monde from Vinols
After passing through Bellevue, you’ll walk alongside the vineyards and reach a plateau from where you’ll see the Vizézy Gorges and the village of Essertines to your right, and the tower of Old Ecotay and the Cotayet Valley to your left.
You’ll cross the Cotayet and pass through beech woods. Following a steep path, you’ll reach the ‘end of the world’, near the ruins of an old hamlet. Taking a path through the valley, you’ll reach Vinols.
Bois de Dôle
A family-friendly route for a breath of fresh air in the Dole forest at Chausseterre. A shaded route, very pleasant on hot days. It has its charms in other seasons, too. This is a route marked by Urfé Random and the Pays d’Urfé Community of Communes with the number 28.
