Le Thor walks

Discover Thor, located downstream from L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, which benefits from the many sorghums flowing from the resurgence of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. On one of the few hills in the Comtat Venaissin plain, a little way from the town, stands the Château de Thouzon and, in its lower part, the caves of the same name.

The waters of the Sorgue' dynamism has fostered industrial activities: milling, drapery, paper mill, silk industry... At the height of the occupation, 66 wheels were installed. This walk allows you to discover the few wheels still present but also to enjoy the clarity of these waters frequented by mallards, swans and chars. This loop allows you to discover the villages of Le Beaucet and La Roque-sur-Pernes, built entirely of stone, via beautiful paths and trails.

From the Hermitage of Saint-Gens, this trail climbs back up to the miraculous spring, then winds its way across the plateau along the historic Plague Wall trail and returns via the Combe de Capellan and the holm oak forests of the Monts de Vaucluse.

A short trail to discover the hidden attractions of the upper part of Cabrières d'Avignon: the distinctive architecture of the village houses, porticos and dry-stone walls, fountains and wash-houses, the cedar forest. It also includes Léopold Truc's "paradise", stone shelters ("bories") and olive groves.

From Cabrières-d'Avignon, this is a nice circle route leading to Fontaine-de-Vaucluse going along the Wall of the Plague (Mur de la Peste) and passing by Fontaine-de-Vaucluse castle.

A pleasant circuit, partly in the shade of the forest, to discover many very well-preserved stone huts (“bories”) and splendid olive groves.

Superb cliff-side walk. Views of Les Taillades, Robion and Cavaillon.

A fine loop starting from Les Taillades. You will walk through varied scenery such as the Source of the Boulon, the cliffs of the Petit Luberon, the Rochers de Baude cliff and the Badarel Gorge, the Carpentras Canal and the old village. A very easy walk. The first part up to the dam, very pleasant and shady. There's not shade on second part until you arrive, so wear hats in sunny weather. Numerous birds and in particular grey herons, cormorants, swans etc. are visible near the water and on the banks of the Rhone.
