Park near the Tourist Office.
(S/E) From the Tourist Office, head north towards the roundabout with the obelisk and turn right onto Avenue du 19 Mars 1962. Pass two streets on your left and take thethird, Chemin du Moulin des Filles, towards the bullring and the boules court. Cross the car park.
In the car park, pass the nursery on your left, then the boules court and the amphitheatre on your right, heading towards the old railway line through a hedge of cypress trees.
(1) Cross the railway line to reach Chemin de la Malautière and continue to the left towards Route de Bonpas.
At the road, turn slightly right, then after the bridge, cross the road and enter the meadow, passing between the two pillars.
(2) At the end of the meadow, follow the path along the Canal de la Malautière downstream, under the trees, until you reach a green bridge. There, turn right towards the bed of the River Durance. To reach it, walk along the ravine and go round behind the trees on the other side. Walk up the wide open ground for about fifty metres, then turn right. A little further on, in a sort of clearing with two pine trees, turn left.
Follow the paths, keeping to the right, to reach the football ground.
(3) Once at the football ground, under the poplars, turn left until you reach the wall with a water tap (against the wall), heading towards the bypass.
Then take the path on the far left to retrace your steps, which avoids walking alongside the dual carriageway and allows you to stay in the countryside. Once back at the end of the meadow, turn right onto the small path. At the end, turn left to reach Lake Iscles.
(4) When you reach the lake, walk round it anti-clockwise.
As you leave the lake, turn right and then left onto a very wide track that passes under a power line; cross a shaded section leading to the river crossing and a gate.
Carry on straight ahead until you reach a tarmac section. Leave the Chemin de la Prise d’Eau on your left and join the CD28, known as the Route de Châteaurenard
(5) Continue to the right towards Châteaurenard along the old railway line. Just before the road bridge, cross the CD28 and take the Chemin du Moulin de la Roque. Do not pass between the pillars of the monumental gateway but turn left just in front of it and continue along this path, which leads to a housing estate and the hamlet of Fabrique: a large building; then follow the tarmac road.
Turn right onto the Chemin de Derrière l’Église, then take the Chemin du Jeu de Mail, until you reach the Pont des Dindes.
(6) At the bridge, turn left onto Rue du Pont des Dindes and then left again onto Rue du Portalet. Head up to the right towards the castle esplanade (Traverse du Portalet).
Take the steps down between the two viewpoints, opening the small gate to reach Rue du Château d’Eau.
(7) Turn right onto Rue Louis Vouland. After crossing Place Belle Laure and passing through the Porte d’Agel, turn left towards the town hall on Place Jean Jaurès.
At the end, cross the road to return to the Tourist Office (A/D).
