Description of the walk

From the large car park with trees to the north of the castle and the village of Saumane-de-Vaucluse.

(S/E) Head south towards the castle and the village. Follow the signs for "Le village".

(1) At the castle, turn left onto the path that descends towards the Inrajat (a stream also known as the Combe du Haut on the IGN map).

(2) Cross the stream. Take the path that climbs to the left until you reach the semi-troglodyte shelter of Marculy.

(3) The site was partially restored by a team of volunteers at the end of the 20th century. After visiting the site, continue along the path towards the hamlet of Marculy.

(4) Turn right and follow the path to the place called Les Lauses.

(5) Take the wide path on the left, cross a small road, and continue to the place called Les Fayardes.

(6) Take the track on the left, pass a house and descend towards Valescure, ignoring another track that branches off to the left at the hairpin bend.

(7) Take the path to the left and come out onto the stony track that leads to the old Valescure farm.

(8) Pass the farm (abandoned) and continue along the path, following the GR® markings (red and white), until you reach Mourre Pelé.

(9) Turn right onto the path that climbs up the hillside to the watchtower (fire lookout post) and the antenna, which are clearly visible from a distance.

(10) Take the right-hand branch of the track and head towards the place called Les Trois-Luisants.

(11) Turn left and continue to the place called Rocher des Trois Luisants.

(12) Take the path that descends to the left, cross the track, and head towards Bourguigne.

(13) Take the path to the left. Ignore all side paths and continue to the car park (S/E).
