Park in the car park at Saumane Castle.
(S/E) Descend towards the village via Montée du Château.
Cross the village, turn left at the wash house and continue straight on until you reach the Tapy path crossroads.
(1) Take this path opposite, following the right bank of the Ruisseau de la Combe du Haut stream.
Leave Chemin de Tapy by crossing the stream and taking a path on the right that climbs quite steeply.
The path continues to the right, but take a detour straight ahead for a few metres to see a magnificent troglodyte house and its beautiful drystone shelter.
(2) Retrace your steps and continue along the path on the left, which continues to climb.
Leave the small path and take a wide track on the left.
At the end of this track, you will reach the small road Chemin les Pesades.
(3) Take it on the left. Continue straight ahead, leaving a fork on the right.
Also pass the entrance to a property on the right. Reach the Piste des Fayardes crossroads.
(4) Follow it to the right, making a few wide turns. Further on, you will reach theGR®91crossroads.
(5) Take it to the right; this is the track leading to the hamlet of Les Fayardes.
Continue along this wide path with lovely views of the Monts du Vaucluse.
(6) At the hamlet, take a short detour to the left to see two enormous, beautiful drystone shelters (shelter huts), then continue along the track.
(7) Leave the Fayardes path and take a pretty stony path on the right that descends into the forest. Join the Les Pesades path.
(8) Continue straight ahead on the path, which descends steeply.
At the bottom, cross the Combe du Haut stream and climb back up towards the village of Saumanes. Return to the initial crossroads
(1) Take the same path as on the way out and follow the Montée du Château to return to the car park at the starting point (S/E).
