Le Fouilloux walks

Please note: August 2022 Hike suspended by: Prefectural order prohibiting access to trails and forests Arboretum, quarries and horses at Fouilloux Discover the kaolin (white clay) quarries, horses and arboretum belonging to the village children in a preserved natural environment.

A gravel and sand track winds its way along the hillsides, which resemble small mountains. The dense forest cascades down the gentle slopes and stretches as far as the eye can see, accompanying walkers into a "wild wilderness".

The commune of Saint-Aigulin offers a superb hiking trail through the Double forest, its moors, ponds and village. Biodiversity abounds here, particularly in the summer months, with a heritage species: the European pond turtle. Numerous educational panels are available along the route to learn more about the local flora and fauna. Don't forget your camera!

A short circular walk around the Etang des Belettes at the edge of Rioux-Martin village. This walk is perfect for families with children and for dog walkers. Accessible all seasons, it is a great walk to reconnect with nature.

A very beautiful walk in the woods, with very little road. Accessible on foot or by mountain bike.

At the start of the hike, you will pass through a pretty little village with a remarkable church. The hike continues along a small stream that leads to a very large pond, then through a wooded area, and the end of the hike offers beautiful views of the countryside.

The route passes through moorland with pine woods and several white clay quarries. The route starts at the Vallier pond estate and crosses the communes of Passirac, Guizengeard and Boisbreteau. The landscape of the Motte valley is remarkable.

The starting point of the route, Guîtres Abbey (11th and 15th centuries) is an imposing monument located on the Way of St James. We will continue our walk through the gentle Pays Gabay (pronounced gabaye) to meet three rivers, the Isle, the Dronne and the Lary.

Country walk through woods and vineyards.

The route is slightly hilly, with a significant section in the woods, ending at the edge of a very picturesque pond. This is a particularly suitable spot for a picnic, but bring a table as the few available are often occupied by fishermen.

Hike mainly through the forest along the Saye valley. The route is shaded, mainly following paths through the undergrowth. Moderator's note : route not accessible as of 09/06/2022, see reviews.

A hike that takes you through dense undergrowth, vineyards, valleys and peaceful surroundings.

This route combines history with nature: much of the walk follows the River Isle. Also worth visiting: the Coly forges, a testament to a major industrial and steel-making industry, and the Monument de la Plaine, a historic site from the Second World War.

This route takes you along the Isle river, using the footpath on the Pont de Ménesplet, Marcillac and Vauclaire bridges, passing by the Chandos leisure centre. The footpath is designed to provide continuous pedestrian access along a stream or river. This footpath, which follows the old towpath, allows you to immerse yourself in protected natural surroundings.
