From La Grossière to Tiffauges
Apart from the start on a small road, this short hike mainly follows both banks of the Sèvre Nantaise in a setting that I never tire of, whatever the season or time of day.
Circular between La Haye-Fouassière and Le Pallet
This hike starts at the port of La Haye-Fouassière and follows a circular route along the south bank of the Sèvre Nantaise to Monnières (on the Way of St James), with an optional detour to the reservoir on the Sèvre at Le Pallet (approximately 15 km without this option).
It offers commanding views over the Sèvre and its surroundings and often winds its way through vineyards.
Circular route between Tiffauges and Boussay along the Sèvre river
This route offers magnificent views of Tiffauges Castle, especially at the end, or what remains of it, the famous Bluebeard's Castle.
It runs largely along the Sèvre Nantaise stream.
Note that this route can be shortened halfway by taking the Pont de la Grossière bridge. This halves the time and distance for little legs.
On the other hand, the second part is wilder and more bucolic.
Through the woods and vineyards south of Vertou
A family hike that crosses villages, forests, woods and vineyards south of Vertou. A circular route starting from the École de l'Enclos, which largely follows the Portillon route.
East of Tiffauges via Le Longeron
Starting from Tiffauges and its feudal castle ruins, we set off along the beautiful Sèvre stream to the south of Le Longeron. The return journey is initially along small roads and then along paths again.
The Bois de la Barbinière from Rochard
Rochard is a tourist village located in the commune of Mortagne-sur-Sèvre. The village has picnic areas and is crossed by the Sèvre river.
Circular of the Sèvre Nantaise valley in Mortagne
This large circular route can be completed in a long day. It is part of a series of circular routes of varying lengths that allow you to discover the magnificent Sèvre Nantaise valley between Clisson and Mortagne-sur-Sèvre. This section starts at the Moulin de la Roche in the commune of Tiffauges and goes to the foot of Mortagne, returning by different paths but always favouring the banks of the Sèvre.
The banks of the Sèvre in the land of Bluebeard
A family walk along the banks of the Sèvre Stream, one of the most beautiful rivers in this region.
The Sèvre, its hillsides and mills between Vertou and La Haye-Fouassière
This hike takes place mainly on paths. Going from village to village, it offers a beautiful variety of landscapes: there are both wide-open views of the vineyards and the Sèvre Nantaise valley, and wooded passages, particularly along the banks of the Sèvre.
It can be enjoyed in any season, with the colours and light offering ever-changing pleasures!
The Sèvre stream around Longeron and Saint-Aubin-des-Ormeaux
This is not the Calvary route, but there are many calvaries along this route between the countryside and the riverbank. The route includes as many paths as possible and a few very peaceful minor roads when there is no other choice.
Circular from Boussay to Tiffauges
This circular route takes us from Boussay to Tiffauges, close to the beautiful Sèvre Nantaise valley, and returns via very peaceful country lanes.
The banks of the Sèvre
Set off to explore ancient mills and the Grotte à Brunet cave along this wild trail. This 9 km walk offers many points of interest along the river.
/! Due to a rockfall and the potential risk of further rockfalls, the Les Bords de Sèvre au Longeron hiking trail is closed to traffic at Gallard, between (4) and (5). This traffic ban is valid until further notice /!
Walk in Mallievre
Superb walk along paths beside the Sèvre Nantaise, which you cross via two unusual crossings, and visit the pretty village of Mallièvre.
Short circular loop starting from Gué Joubert
Traditional houses, superb paths through the vineyards, shady banks of the Sèvre: a wonderful itinerary!
From the Sèvre Nantaise to the Moine
Between the tame and tranquil Sèvre Nantaise and the wild and secretive Moine, this life-size trail is sure to appeal to many hikers. Footbridges over the rivers make it easier to get around and allow you to better enjoy the steep-sided valleys.
Please note: due to the Hellfest festival in Clisson, the Sèvre Nantaise to Moine route is not accessible during the second half of June (dates to be checked each year).
Between Sèvre Nantaise, vineyards and mills
This hike starts on the north bank of the Sèvre Nantaise but mainly takes place on the south bank. It offers both beautiful views along the river and panoramic views over the vineyards. It is accessible all year round in principle, but in wet weather, some sections may be muddy.
