By car, from Monnières, take the D76 towards La Févrie in front of the church, pass through the village then turn right at Gué Joubert, about 2.5 km from the village centre. Plenty of parking available.
(S/E) Start by taking in this beautiful setting. Head back up towards the village for 200 m, then cut right via the rustic steps to join the D76. Follow it carefully to the right for about 200 m, then turn left and head up through the vineyards to reach a small road. Go right for about 300 m.
(1) Turn right again between woods and vineyards. Then turn left at a right angle and keep left towards the Ormière buildings, which you go round to the left before reaching the D59. Cross with care to climb up opposite to the foot of the Moulin de la Gustais for the view.
(2) Head back down to the road and turn right for about 100 metres. Cut left and, at the road, take a right/left turn to head down towards La Moraudière. Before the buildings, turn right and follow the yellow-marked path to La Halopière.
(3) Head up through the village on the left and, at the three-way junction, turn right to cross the small square and leave the village. At the three-way junction, veer left and continue for about a hundred metres.
(4) At the junction of the two lanes, go straight on, then, at the next three-way junction, keep to the right. Then turn right between the vineyards, turn left to skirt a small wood, then turn sharply right to cross it.
(5) Cross the road and take the path opposite. Turn left, then go straight on at the next junction to join the D7. Follow the road to the left for a few dozen metres before crossing carefully to follow a vineyard path on the right.
(6) Pass the signpost for the Moulin de la Minière on your right and turn first left then right. Follow the paths between the vines, keeping the same direction, until you come out onto a small road. Turn left then right at the first path and join the lovely stony track coming from the mill.
(7) Turn left. Cross the D76 with care and continue straight ahead to reach the junction where the route meets theGRP® Sèvre et Maine.
(8) Follow these markings straight ahead. At the T-junction, turn right, pass by the lodges and arrive at the Pont de Monnières.
(9) Pass underneath the bridge via the small passageway or underpass, then head up to the left to rejoin the yellow and red markings of theGRP®. Turn right, then left once you reach the edge of the woods. At the next junction, turn right, cross the tarmac road and continue straight ahead.
(10) Turn right. Walk past the Grotte de Lourdes and join a small road.
(11) Turn right then left along the river to reach, in the shade, the Gué Joubert (S/E).
