Park in the Château de Clisson car park.
(S/E) Go down the Courtine alley, exit through the small door at the bottom, cross the road and turn right onto the footpath.
Stay at the top of the embankment, towards the Temple de l'Amitié and the Henri IV column, and you will come to Rue Saint-Gilles.
(1) Continue left on this street, then continue a few metres along Rue de la Madeleine. Turn left again into Venelle des Ânes towards the Sèvre. Walk right towards the water sports centre and the old mill and continue to the HELFEST headquarters (extreme music festival).
(2) Continue right towards the Pont de l'Arsenal bridge, cross it and go up to the left along the path to Avenue Xavier Rineau. Turn left and follow the road until you reach the car park of the Domaine de la Garenne Lemot.
(3) Enter the park and head towards the Maison du Jardinier and the information point.
Cross the buildings and head towards Villa Lemot, an exhibition venue. Go around to the right towards the terrace and its panoramic view of the city. Return through the garden and its statues, head towards the Temple of Diana and descend towards the Sèvre. On the right, head towards the exit and go up under the bridge.
(4) Explore the structure of this contemporary viaduct, then return towards the Sèvre and the Saint-Antoine bridge over the Moine. Towards the 4-star hotel, turn right into the alleyway, pass under the viaduct and go over the low wall. Continue through the Garenne Valentin meadow. Turn left and go up to the terrace of the Ancien Prieuré and the Église de la Trinité.
(5) After enjoying the view of the Notre-Dame and Château area, go around the church on the right, cross the square and go down the Côte de la Vallée to the bridge of the same name.
(6) Take in the views on all sides and climb up Rue de la Collégiale on the right, with its steps on the left and its umbrella pine tree. Climb up to the forecourt of Notre-Dame Church, then take the steps on the right to Les Halles.
(7) Pass under the market halls and exit on the left onto the square at the entrance to the castle, then turn right and left to return to the starting point (S/E).
