Short hike along the blue-marked Star Trail. Charming little village with everything to do with the universe, stars and planets. La Chapelle aux Lys is a former commune that merged with two neighbouring communes on 1 January 2023 under the name of Terval.

Starting from the Faymoreau Mining Centre, this route follows the mine path (an old railway line) and then continues through the countryside and orchards to reach the national forest (to be avoided during the hunting season).

Former mining basin, Faymoreau Petite Cité de Caractère in Vendée. Worth visiting for its geological history, its mining museum, its miners' houses and its miners' chapel with its stained glass windows. A walk through the countryside on an old railway line, along the banks of the river "La Vendée" and through orchards.

A pleasant walk starting from Béceleuf, with its Romanesque church, exploring the Autize Valley with its dovecotes, castles and manor houses, not to mention the numerous wash houses and mills in this area rich in heritage and nature, such as the Chêne de Pouzay. As you walk, be sure to look out for the Gâtine barriers, reminders of the past.

During this hike, you will discover numerous fountains and wash houses, of course, but also the castle and park of Dilay, the Doré, Saumort and Autize valleys, the Pouzay house and dovecote, the Chaillot arboretum and perhaps... La Galipote.

Covering an area of 5,518 hectares, the Mervent-Vouvant forest complex includes a 2,530-hectare state-owned forest. It is home to a rich variety of plant species. The most common species, the sessile oak, can reach a height of 35 metres at 200 years of age. The suggested route follows paths and forest lanes in the north-eastern part of the forest. The multitude of existing paths allows you to extend or shorten this walk as you wish.

South-west of the Gâtine Parthenaise, starting from Coulonges-sur-l'Autize, this hike takes you from the plains of southern Vendée to the more hilly Gâtine Parthenaise, from farmland to bocage.

A pleasant hike in hilly terrain around the Egray River and its tributaries. It offers beautiful landscapes and allows you to discover a rich heritage of ancient buildings (Château de la Pimpelière, houses, farm buildings, etc.). The natural heritage is not to be outdone, with the Planche de Rochard and the Rochers de la Chaise, for example.

A pleasant walk exploring the restored wash houses, between the Roche and Musson valleys. This route takes you past the Romanesque church, the Tree of Liberty and the Hosanna cross in the village, then on to the wash house at Boisne, the wash house at La Perdillière, the wash house at Chazais and the wash house at La Roche, as well as the underground river. The route offers varied scenery and a chance to experience the natural beauty of this lovely corner of the Gâtine region.

This circular route takes you along the Soleil Levant lake, along theGR® 364 andGRP® des Marches de Gâtine footpaths, and to the village of Les Nénéens.

This is an easy route that runs along the right bank of the Touche Poupard reservoir, crosses a few small streams that partially feed the dam, and passes through a few hamlets in Saint-Georges-de-Noisné. Part of the GRP® des Marches de Gâtine and GR®364 trails are used. Waterproof walking shoes with good gripping soles are recommended in case of recent rainfall.

A pleasant walk around the Touche-Poupard reservoir, presenting no difficulty other than its length. There are plenty of spots along the route where you can stop for a nice break.

There are many pedestrian paths to discover in Mervent forest.

This hike is accessible to all hikers, with a few minor difficulties and one section off the trail, but no major hazards.It starts in the village of Mervent, which overlooks the River La Mêre. A superb viewpoint at the top of the castle ruins offers a view of the meandering river and the surrounding forest.

A pleasant walk around the Soleil Levant lake behind the Clavé dam bridge. The route follows both banks in turn along paths that are steep in places, offering lovely scenery and fine views of Lac de la Touche Poupard. The walk takes in a landscape information board, the Church of Notre-Dame de Clavé, the Gros Chêne fountain, old hamlets and the Clavé garden.

A route that follows the River Autize, passes near Château des Moulières, then takes a footpath and reaches the village of Tourteron via agricultural tracks. After a detour to the fountain and wash house in Tourteron, the walk continues across the plain dotted with wind turbines, then follows or runs alongside an old railway line, passes under a viaduct and returns along the meadows bordering the Autize to the Moulin de Dray before climbing back up to Saint-Pompain.

A short walk in the Forest of Mervent and along the River Mère.

Ce parcours comporte des chemins variés, assez peu de route. Il est à faire plutôt en été, automne (chemins assez humides). Il faut soit des poneys aguerris, soit être prêt à quitter sa monture pour lui montrer le passage en 2 ou 3 endroits. Il n'y a qu'1 ou 2 chemins où le galop est possible. Beaucoup de pas, du trot de temps à autre. À éviter les après-midis en week-end du fait de la présence de piétons autour du lac à Clavé.

This unmarked hike will first take you through the village of Augé and its narrow streets, then along paths that will lead you to the Montbrune stream via several footbridges and through a few pretty villages with their wash houses. The end of the route is on the old Deux-Sèvres tramway line (TDS).

Hike around La Meilleraie with a mostly shaded first section and some unpaved paths, forming a pleasant green tunnel in summer. The second part of the circuit is more open, with a section on the plain. This second part can be avoided by going directly from point (6) to point (9).

In the commune of Exireuil, this short route follows the eastern bank of the La Touche Poupard reservoir.Starting from the Lachereau sailing club car park, it partly follows the GR®364 trail, passes through the Bois de la Vergne and Bois de Chantoiseau woods, and joins the Clavé au Pommier road.

Starting from Saint-Michel-le-Cloucq, 5 km north of Fontenay-le-Comte, you will first walk along shaded paths around the Vendée and its tributary, the Ruisseau de la Cornelière. (difficult section, uneven path) then, passing by the Fontaine à l'Ermite, you will cross part of the Mervent forest and reach Saint-Michel via quiet paths and small roads, with beautiful panoramic views.

At the start, quiet country lanes with panoramic views of Fontenay-le-Comte and the surrounding countryside; then, after passing through the village of Meilleraie, shaded paths and tracks running alongside the Vendée river not far from the Albert dam, before climbing up to Saint-Michel-le-Cloucq.

A peaceful hike in the countryside around Exiroise and Nanteuillaise. This circular hike, marked by the presence of several streams, takes you through villages, across a ford and past a 19th-century private cemetery.
