Parking in the village centre near the bridge.
(S/E) To start the route, follow theGRP® Sèvre et Maine signs. With your back to the village, follow the road that runs alongside the river (on your right). Pass a road on your left and you will come to a crossroads.
(1) Turn right towards Le Guy and cross the Sèvre via a rustic bridge. Pass through the village of Le Guy. Then continue along the route, keeping to your left, following the Sèvre for about 100 metres and passing under the motorway.
At the next three-way junction, turn left before the houses and continue to a crossroads.
(2) Turn right, ignoring the path on the left, which will be the return route. The path climbs towards a railway line, which you will need to cross. This line is used by a tourist train. Turn right, then left to arrive at the entrance to the château. Continue straight ahead until you reach La Barbinière, then cross the village.
(3) Take the second street on the left (Rue du Champ Blanc) and then left again onto Rue de la Corniche. At the end of the street, continue straight ahead along a path through the woods. Then, on the right, follow the Sèvre river again, which this time will be on your right. Cross the hamlet of Étourneau and you will arrive on the other side of the castle.
(4) At the intersection, turn right and then go under the viaduct to return to the junction you passed on the way there.
(2) Turn right and retrace your steps to return to Rochard (S/E).
