Parking on Rue du Foulon, below the D753, turning right when coming from the Château de Tiffauges. Space for two or three vehicles.
(S/E) Head east along Rue du Foulon, which quickly turns into a path (GRP® Sèvre et Maine to the hamlet of L'Elinière). After an initial climb up a magnificent, wide stony path and a sharp right turn, you will reach Château du Couboureau.
(1) Walk along the new moat, then take the path that branches off to the left to cross a stream. At the second small valley, descend to the right (south). Cross a footbridge over the Benêt and you will reach the Sèvre Nantaise.
(2) Walk along the river on your right. In a bend on the left, note the Moulin de la Roche opposite. Shortly before reaching the D91, cross a meadow equipped with metal gates (be careful if there are animals).
(3) Take the D91 eastwards. Just before the bridge over the Sèvre, take the first road on the left which leads to the Mulliez textile factory. Go around the entrance to the factory via the Route du Longeron.
(4) Then take a path ascending to the right, which is hairpin-shaped and has a guardrail at the beginning. The path remains at a distance from the river, then approaches it before moving away to the left via a slightly steep slope.
(5) At the hamlet of Élinière, leave theGRP® and turn left to head north. At the T-junction, turn left again towards Longeron.
(6) At a three-way junction, turn right and, after a few metres, turn left onto Rue de Beau Soleil. Continue on the left along Rue de la Grande Fontaine towards the church.
(7) Continue straight ahead, leaving the church on your right and, further on, the large calvary on your left. Then take the first street on the left towards the stadiums. Walk along the stadiums and cross the D91. Continue straight ahead and cross the hamlet of Petit Rocher.
(8) At Toucharette, the road gives way to a downhill path.
(2) The return journey is now via the same route as the outward journey to Rue du Foulon (S/E).
not to be done all year round because the areas are regularly flooded: the Bted du Longeron is not fascinating
