La Londe walks

This walk offers you the chance to explore this remarkable forest heritage, breathe in the fresh air of the undergrowth and enjoy the tranquillity of a preserved environment. Whether you are a nature lover, a regular walker or simply curious, the Bois de la Hérangère will surprise you with its diversity and peaceful atmosphere.

Located on the outskirts of Rouen, the La Londe-Rouvray forest is a true natural gem, with majestic beech forests, winding paths and bright clearings. Ranked among the largest state-owned forests in Normandy, it invites you to escape and discover varied landscapes, shaped by the seasons and history. Following the GPX track can be useful in the forest.

Starting from La Saussaye, the path quickly opens up onto alternating undergrowth and small country lanes. The route allows you to enjoy a peaceful, green rural environment. After a pleasant warm-up, you reach Saint-Germain-de-Pasquier, a charming Norman village known for having the smallest town hall in France: with a surface area of around 8 m² (2.7 metres by 3), it is indeed one of the smallest town halls in France, listed in the Guinness Book of Records. It is housed in the former Sainte-Clotilde chapel, which was deconsecrated at the beginning of the 20th century and converted by a naval architect accustomed to small spaces. A short photo break is a must before continuing on to the Saint-Louis Collegiate Church, a beautiful building whose architecture combines simplicity and elegance.

A pleasant walk along the Seine, starting with views of pretty villages and cliffs on the opposite bank. This route also passes through the Roumare National Forest and several villages. This hike offers views of no fewer than seven castles and manor houses, some of which are visible on the way back along the Seine.

L'Oison was formerly known as Le Bec, Le Becquet (from the Norse bekkr meaning stream), but also Le Dué or Douet (from the Celtic four meaning running water). Discover beautiful Norman houses as well as around twenty species of wild orchids growing in the valley, which is classified as a natural area of faunistic and floristic interest. The Fontaine Sainte-Clothilde, a miraculous spring, was for a long time a popular place of pilgrimage for the healing of all kinds of ailments. It is said that it gave strength to children who were slow to walk, who were then immersed in the very cold water of the spring.

A.F.S.S.O Pas à Pas recommends this route in the La Londe National Forest, which allows you to discover several caves on a pleasant walk. A word of advice: do not venture into the caves, wear good shoes and bring walking sticks.

This easy walk along the banks of the Seine and its branches, which form small islands, takes you to the small marina of Saint Aubin Les Elbeuf. The path continues to the bend opposite the church of Saint Georges d'Orival and its cliffs.

This hike, starting from the charming village of Val-de-la-Haye on the banks of the Seine, gradually takes you into the Roumare forest, where you will walk along wide paths. The paths are all passable in wet weather.

Walking tour on little-used roads, paths and trails that cross the village and the marshes, run alongside the Seine, and criss-cross the plain and the forest.

The pretty village of Mauny has a rich heritage with its imposing castle and numerous old houses. The forest covers half of the route and contrasts with the open agricultural plain. The Grotte du Maquis, a sandstone cross and beautiful trees also line this pleasant route. A shorter version of the yellow marked route starting from Barneville-sur-Seine, retaining its main points of interest but removing the two sections on the fairly busy road.

A pleasant, flat walk that will allow you to discover the back of the properties in this small village in the Neubourg plain.

A lovely little walk, full of flowers in spring, through fields planted with cherry trees and villages. You can admire the view over Sotteville-sous-le-Val and the beautifully maintained houses and gardens in Les Authieux-sur-le-Port-Saint-Ouen.

A pleasant walk, mostly through the forest, to see three remarkable trees and discover the panorama of La Roche Fouet, site of the ruins of the old Fouet castle.The start and end of the route are along the banks of the Seine.

A beautiful ten-kilometre walk in the heart of the Roumare Forest with the opportunity to discover the arboretum and the animal park. Ideal with children in the summer. Take this walk in the early afternoon in spring or summer, when the Allée forestière du Loup faces the early afternoon sun and offers magnificent views between deciduous trees (on the left) and conifers (on the right).

Starting from Quevillon, this route is located in the Roumare Forest, where you can admire pheasants, wild boars, roe deer and deer in the wild, crossing a path or forest road, and enjoy the sound of pheasants calling as you walk.

Starting from Grand-Quevilly, this hike invites you to enjoy a nature getaway and discover Puits Hébert, a place steeped in history and nestled in a green environment. The route alternates between peaceful paths, woodland and typical valley landscapes, offering a pleasant route. Ideal for recharging your batteries, this long walk allows you to take the time to observe nature while enjoying a friendly itinerary, conducive to relaxation and discovering the local heritage.

We begin with a stretch through the forest, crossing the golf course, then we go around the lake and take the marsh path to join the Route du Conihout and then the towpath.

A short route with varied landscapes: the charming village of Mesnil-sous-Jumièges on the banks of the Seine, then a short detour into the forest, passing near the Manoir d'Agnès Sorel, followed by a walk along the lake opposite the leisure centre, and ending through marshes and orchards along the towpath.

Hike from the forecourt of Saint-Martin-de-Boscherville Abbey to Montigny and Hénouville along forest paths and trails. Then, descend through the marshes to walk along the Seine and return to Saint-Martin via trails, paths and small roads.

Discover the Moulin de Pierre in Hauville, open to visitors every Sunday from 2pm to 6pm. In the village, the Church of Saint-Paër or Saint-Paterne is open to the public. A fairly pleasant route, with a little tarmac at the start and end. The route is mainly in the forest, with one fairly steep hill and two others that are much gentler.

An easy and pleasant walk, best done during cherry season or when the many fruit trees along the route are in bloom. Lovely views of the Abbey and the River Seine.

A walk through Rouen, a quintessential Norman city with its many churches and remarkable monuments, its clock and its historic sites, as well as its panoramic views of the Seine and the city from the hillsides.

With a nod to Victor Hugo, who referred to the city as the city of a hundred bell towers, the theme of this urban walk is churches and chapels without bell towers. These are the remains of churches that have suffered the ravages of history and urbanisation, as well as churches and chapels that have been deconsecrated and converted to other uses or are awaiting decisions on their fate. A few buildings still used for worship are exceptions, but they are well worth a visit. An opportunity to (re)discover this beautiful city .
