Londe Rouvray State Forest, starting from Château Robert le Diable

Parking and start point at the 1870 War Memorial at the foot of the ruins of Château Robert le Diable.

(S/E) With your back to the monument, head towards the motorway bridge, go under it, and continue to the first turn-off on the right, just before the sign warning of a dangerous bend for 5 km.

(1) Turn right onto Route Forestière du Château Robert and follow the road downhill to the T-junction, Carrefour Robert.

(2) Turn left, go under the railway bridge. At the next T-junction, continue left for about 450 m.

(3) Leave the road on the right, taking the path. Go under the railway bridge and, at the first T-junction, turn right. Climb the hill (quite a workout), ignoring the paths on the right, until you reach a road.

(4) First turn right then left to leave the road and take the small path. At the T-junction, turn right and join the road at the Carrefour de la Mare Lecomte. Turn left and walk to the next open junction, which resembles a clearing.

(5) Ignore the no-entry sign at the 3.5 T junction and take the road slightly to the right to reach the next junction, Carrefour du Fond du Chêne.

(6) Turn right onto the Route Forestière de la Vallée des Joncs to reach the Carrefour du Chêne Rabutté.

(7) Keep right, go under the railway bridge and continue along the forest road for approximately 2,700 m to reach Carrefour Robert.

(2) Turn left and, following the route back in the opposite direction, return to the starting car park (S/E).
