This very easy hike follows an old tree-lined railway line that crosses La Ciotat, passes in front of the station and descends towards Port Saint-Jean and the Mediterranean. The return journey follows the coastline. The hike is accessible by bus and train.

The Coastal Path between La Garde and the Bec de l'Aigle Semaphore
This challenging and technical route, which is exposed in places (please read the description carefully), starts from La Garde in La Ciotat and takes you close to part of the Soubeyranes Cliffs between Notre-Dame de la Garde and the Bec de l'Aigle semaphore. You will discover the unique characteristics of these cliffs, made of a mixture of sandstone, puddingstone and limestone. On the way back, you will cross ancient terraces and the ruins of forgotten farms before returning to your starting point via a small road.

The Soubeyranes Cliffs with return via the Dent du Chat from La Ciotat
A fairly classic hike that allows us to admire the high cliffs of Cassis and the caves and the Dent du Chat with its amazing stone arch.
Semaphore, viewpoint and Cap Canaille Arch
This hike will take you to the ridges of Cap Canaille, at the top of the Soubeyranes Cliffs.
Admire the magnificent landscape stretching from the Riou Archipelago in the west to the Embiez Archipelago in the east, and beautiful viewpoints over the Calanques and La Ciotat.

Ceyreste loop via the Pas d'Ouillier and the Cabanon des Gardes
An unusual departure from the Athélia area in La Ciotat towards the Pas d'Ouillier via the Vallon de Roumagoua to the Cabanon des Gardes with a descent to the Vallon de Gendarme via the Gouffre Durand. Beautiful views of La Ciotat and the Gulf of Sanary as far as Les Embiez dot the path.
Le Télégraphe from Les Plaines Baronnes
This circular hike starts from Chemin des Plaines Baronnes in La Ciotat, alternating between tracks and paths, and takes you to the summit of Le Télégraphe. The route offers some beautiful views of the Golfe d'Amour and the various surrounding mountains: Calanques, Sainte Baume, etc. Along the route, you can see the remains of ancient dwellings: jas, drystone shelters, Cade ovens, charcoal kilns... some of which have been restored by associations of enthusiasts.
Between sea and limestone: a gentle circular to the Calanque de Port-Miou
From the picturesque heart of Cassis, this easy circular takes you to discover the Calanque de Port-Miou, the easternmost of the famous calanques in the National Park. The trail runs along the coastline, offering beautiful views of the white cliffs of Cap Canaille and the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. After strolling along the natural harbour of Port-Miou, lined with sailing boats and maritime pines, the return to Cassis is a gentle walk along urban paths and shaded passages. A hike accessible to all, ideal for a warm-up or a contemplative getaway.
Mont Gibaou, Baou Redon and the Grotte des Janots from Cassis
This hike from Cassis will take you to Mont Gibaou and Baou Redon between Cassis and Roquefort-La-Bédoule, following old orange markings in some places. These viewpoints offer a 360° view of the Calanques, the Etoile mountain range, the Garlaban, the Sainte-Baume massif, La Ciotat and the Gulf of Love, and the Bay of Cassis. You will descend through the Bois de la Marcouline and visit the Grotte des Janots, an ideal cave for exploring the underground world.

This hike starting from Grand Caunet will take you to a beautiful panorama facing the Pic de Bertagne and Sainte-Baume, from where you can look down on Cuges-les-Bains. From there, you will pass under the Barres de Font Blanche and climb back up into the Font Blanche forest via the Vallon de Carafa. On the way back, shortly before arriving, you will discover the Gouffre du Grand Caunet, a karst feature unique to the region.

A hike starting from the Col de la Gardiole (car park) allows you to admire the Calanques, with a 360° view from Cap Canaille to Cassis to L'Estaque, and the islands of Marseille (Riou, Maïre). Beautiful botanical diversity: pines, kermes oaks, sumac, aromatic plants, cedars, etc. The route has ascents and descents with some sections requiring sure-footedness (stairs towards Cap Gros).

Grand tour of the Devenson Cliffs
This challenging hike in the Calanques National Park takes you across the entire Devenson cliffs via the Col de la Candelle. The views are exceptional: Calanque de Sugiton, Île Riou, Devenson cliffs, Aiguille de l'Essaidon, Cap Canaille and Soubeyrannes cliffs, a summary of the main sites in the area. However, it is only suitable for people who know how to find their way and are comfortable on difficult terrain, including climbing and descending passages, with a significant cumulative elevation gain. The multitude of markings also presents a particular challenge, but the reward is well worth the effort.This hike takes place in the Calanques National Park: please respect the regulations in force. The Devenson Cliffs
A magnificent hike through the calanques, with a route that runs along the edge of the Falaises de Devenson. Splendid panoramic views of the Calanques, Cap Canaille, the Îles de Riou, Mont Carpiagne, Sainte-Baume, Pic de Bertagne and, weather permitting, the Alps, when you reach the highest point of the Crête de l'Estret.

Tête du Douard
This circular hike starting from Gémenos will take you to the summit of the Tête du Douard, via a varied route that favours walking on trails, avoiding tracks as much as possible. This beautiful viewpoint offers a view of the Pic de Bertagne, the Montagne Sainte-Victoire, the Huveaune valley with Marseille in the background, the Bay of Cassis and the Grand Caunet massif. Along the way, you will climb the Gorges de la Petite Sainte-Baume with its unique atmosphere.

Le Jas de Sylvain via the Vallon de Julie
This is a fairly challenging hike that will take you through the Julie valley, which remains quite wild. On the way back, you will discover the Dousserand and Sainte-Madeleine valleys with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. Long sleeves and trousers are required as the paths on the way there are poorly maintained, although well marked.
