Description of the walk

To reach the starting point, go to Avenue du Revestel, 13260 Cassis. There you will find the Madie car park, conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from the port of Cassis (paid parking, toilets available on site).

(S/E) From the car park, turn left and walk down Avenue du Revestel to the roundabout.

(1) Continue left onto Rue de l'Arène, against the one-way traffic. At the Place Georges Clemenceau roundabout, go straight ahead onto Boulevard Gambetta. Go around Square Gilbert Savon to arrive in front of the Port of Cassis and the tourist office. Near the statue of Venus with the flame, turn left to continue along Promenade Aristide Briand. At the statue of Calendal, go through the barrier and continue between the sea and the port until you reach the Cassis lighthouse.

(2) Return to the statue of Venus with the Flame, then walk along the harbour following Quai Saint-Pierre. Turn left onto Quai des Baux and continue onto Quai Calendal, just before the Grand Hôtel Le Golfe.

(3) Turn right onto Avenue de l'Amiral Ganteaume. Stay on this avenue, which becomes a one-way street as it climbs, then descends to Bestouan Beach. Continue along Avenue des Calanques until you reach the fork in front of the Résidence Week-end.

(4) Keep left on Avenue des Calanques to enter the hamlet of Port Miou and continue uphill to the next fork.

(5) Continue left on Avenue Jean Jacques Garcin in the no-entry lane. Continue until you reach the barrier marking the entrance to the calanques.

(6) Follow the La Presqu'île car park, go under the archway and turn left to reach a large terrace in front of the tennis club brasserie.

(7) Continue south-west, then take the path blocked by a barrier. Pass in front of the Port-Miou chapel. At the intersection, turn left and continue to the end of the peninsula at Cap Cable.

(8) Continue along the path that runs along the top of the cliffs overlooking the Port-Miou cove. Follow the cove to a secure viewpoint offering breathtaking views of Port-Miou.

(9) Continue along the path until you reach the highest point of the stage, then begin a descent towards the north-east until you reach Avenue Notre-Dame.

(10) Continue along Avenue Notre-Dame in the wrong direction until you reach Avenue des Calanques.

(11) Continue left on Traverse du Soleil, against the traffic. At the fork, take the right-hand lane and continue to the intersection with Avenue des Calanques, opposite the Résidence Week-End.

(4) Turn left onto the slightly downhill avenue. Follow the same route as on the way there to reach the port.

(3) Turn left to follow the harbour along Quai Calendal, then turn right onto Quai des Baux. Continue to the end, then straight on onto Rue Marcel Barthélémy.

(1) At the Place Georges Clemenceau roundabout, continue straight ahead. Follow the same route as on the way there to reach theMadie car park (S/E).
